There is a discussion panel on ORF, and Virginia Ernst is there and voted for San Marino as the worst of the night. A drag queen voted for Montenegro.

I think I ran out of slots to be surprised this Thursday. 3 surprise slots already taken today

Can someone please explain San Marino ?
Belarus grew on me so much since its release, I'm not surprised to see it in the final. Can't say the same about Hungary and Poland though, here go two of my top 5.
But as long as Iceland and Australia made it, I'm happy :D

Portugal's fall doesn't surprise me in the least, it wasn't as potentially likeable as other qualifiers and not as polarizing as Iceland (who was absolutely loved by many).

Ironic, our commentators were obsessed with Serhat and celebrated as if we'd just qualified.

OMG Poland didn't make it either :(

We lost almost all the entries that had some kind of local flavour: Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Georgia. Serbia is the only one left.

Just going to take a wild guess that this post would never have happened if the bolded part weren't included.

Literally. I. Am. Pissed. Goergia out and Estonia and Belarus in? WTF??? My No. 1 out. I could cry. Oto. You were the best. Unfortunately, bleakness won over passion. And Portugal? Or Poland? I need to digest this eve.

The fact that Slovenia qualified gives me some hopeful thoughts.
Something humble and modest can still be successful in an ESC world full of fireworks and colourful projections.
Thanks to everybody who voted for Slovenia tonight. They will get my votes on Saturday, too.

Belarus deserved it, tbh. The best of all dance performances this year. Switzerland won’t succeed that. That girl can dance and sing at the same time! Big big big surprise!
Sad, Oto and the Nightwatch are out. Was great live. Also Czech Republic war very good live, they really deserved it.
I knew that Belgium wouldn’t make it. A few days ago I wrote, if Eliot‘s voice doesn’t improve and they don’t change his clothes he‘ll be a DNQ. They did neither. Sad. It was a great song.

I feel you (in case of Georgia). He deserved it so much.

Estonia in is the biggest joke of all. It was my second last in the semi. The song was neither innovative nor did he sing well.

Whoever came 10th should be so grateful that MARUV pulled out

I loved the postcards and the montage of different Eurovision years and entries. Feels like a classic Eurovision we're watching with a modern touch

I'll miss Portugal and Poland in the final. (Hungary too although not as much)

That said my top two Australia and Slovenia made it through so I'm not complaining. Especially when I was so worried Slovenia wouldn't even make it.

Or Iceland: I can imagine the juries tried to stop it

I know right. At least we know Italy is still going the finals.

I'm about as happy for San Marino qualifying as when Gabriela Gunčíková made it in 2016! Also really happy about Slovenia and Belarus!
