I'm currently enjoying the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 First Semi-Final. Here are my preferences based solely on all of tonight's performances:
Definitely want to qualify: Cyprus, Poland, Slovenia, Australia, Estonia, Greece.
Wouldn't mind qualifying: Hungary, Belarus, Serbia, Belgium.
Prefer not to qualify: Montenegro Finland, Czech Republic, Iceland, Portugal, San Marino
Definitely don't want to qualify: Georgia.

So these are the ones I want to see Saturday night: Cyprus, Poland, Slovenia, Australia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Belarus, Serbia, Belgium.

Okay, I can't vote for some reason It ain't working for me.

I wasn't able to vote either, I'll probably have to sue T-Mobile if Pápai doesn't qualify, I couldn't find the settings that block my voting in their super sh*t software.

I dont really agree. Just watched some performances from last year and there were lots worse camera shots. I wouldve done things differently here and there as well, but I expected worse after all the criticism that accured the past few days.

Maybe I‘m wrong but I thought they destroyed some special effects. Pulling the jacket in Belarus, unfolding blossom in Greece, water girl in Finland, Fireworks in Hungary etc.

BF only liked Portugal, Poland and think Iceland is winner worthy. It's nice to have a pov from someone outside the bubble.

He found Australia too campy like for him the stage was distracting and told me "Replay" was fuego 2.0 lmao.

Question for our Baltoscandic friends: is hockey the "douche" sport in Baltoscandia like it is in the Upper Midwest of the US? It just strikes me like it could be.

Don't know about Baltoscandia, but it is definitely the n°1 followed sport here in the Czech Republic, if our biggest hockey legend (Jágr) decided to run for president, he might actually succeed (not that I'd personally support it :-) ). It's not a "douche" sport, it's perceived as the sexy sport here..

I have to compliment their English .. and their authencity, they all live up to their roles. The hosts are very charismatic and seem to improvise here and there, just tiny things that I find great tbh.

My impressions from this semi 1 is that it is a weak semi-final. I only have 3 songs or so that I really want to go through to the final and that is far less than usual for me.
The three are: Serbia, Australia and Cyprus. I hope they make it. Some other decent entries and some very weird ones (some which will probably qualify). I still think fan-favourite Iceland is crapioso though I bet it will qualify. It certainly stands out.

Semi 2 on Thursday will be much stronger (pity for Norway, that much harder to qualify).
