Well, Georgia's qualification is definitely the story of the evening. Who'd have thought a credible, indie-rock song with no nudity, vocal pyrotechnics or gimmicks could win Eurovision votes?

No gimmicks? And what was with all the lighting?

Much worse results this time. It was much worse semifinal as well, but much more difficult as well since not all the places were clear (unlike in semi 1).

I'm especially mad to see Georgia and Belgium again on Saturday. I can't stand these songs. Norway, Denmark, FYR Macedonia and even Belarus were better. These four were better than Poland and Israel too IMO.

But it's not a big loss anyway. The final will still be competitive. Congrats :)

PS: I really hope this Nordic disaster doesn't help Sweden on Saturday. Curiously, the only Nordic entry in the final is probably the worst one...

Yes of course they will and BIG TIME. What did you think?

Not necessary, don't forget that Swedes are true schlager lovers, and they always fairly reward the best schlager :) Well, almost always.

Yeah, who could believe there are actually people in this world with good taste? And so many of them too? I'm pleasantly surprised!

Frankly, everyone had whizzy light shows. Not everyone had nudity and wolves, or smoking arm-pits.

As for the disasters helping some countries, don't forget that also Croatia will profit immensely from the flop of almost all ex-Yu states... So, your comment is not really in its place :) But dont get me wrong, I really hope we give all our 24 points to Croatia :)

When SVT promised us a "compelling show," they didn't dissapoint! They turned underdogs like Israel and Georgia into camera-work masterpieces.

Way too many songs this year entered on the premise of "projection screens will save our entry." That, and the auto-tuned entries struggled when it came to proving their vocal capacity. If anything, hopefully this means solid vocals will play a bigger role next year akin to Australia; Czech Republic this year.

Two ex-Yu countries is not really bad. 2-3 of these countries qualifying is the average (except in 2013).

2009 - Croatia and Bosnia
2010 - Serbia and Bosnia
2011 - Serbia, Bosnia and Slovenia
2012 - Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia
2013 - nothing
2014 - Slovenia and Montenegro
2015 - Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia
2016 - Croatia and Serbia

In my opinion, we've got a clear fight between Australia and Russia.

Come on Australia!

Yes, Serbia is in, but Croatia will take all the 12s from all ex-Yu countries :) Trust me with this one.

Wanna bet?

I never bet :) But about this one, I am 99 % sure that Croatia will pick all the points from Slovenia, Bosnia, and Serbia. As for Montenegro and (especially) Macedonia, I am not so sure. Macedonia could also give high score to Bulgaria...
