There's a little stairway at the back to the right side. It's in a photo I saw and you see Debrah come up from it in the second rehearsal.

Because even if most of us guess that Australia stays forever, the official version was that Australia will participate again only in case of victory. So, such statement could potentially demotivate troll-voters, who were going to vote for Australia just because of the beautifully grotesque situation of the non-European country/continent winning European contest.
