I'm wondering whether to go next year, how cheap are flights from East Midlands (UK) to say, Vienna? I don't know how to look for flights

I didn't expect the Sub Forum Name to be that popular. We always use the same letter (Loreen's Loft, Emelie's Empire). I almost used Castle but Cleavage just was funnier and is actually the name of the Mod area, too (Well, it's Charlotte's Cleavage but still)

I want Innsbruck! It's not that small and have enough flair for Eurovision.

Also I'm going to travel in Upper Bavaria next year, maybe.

It's still more appropriate than some other anatomical things that start with C. I approve!

Apparently Vienna, Klagenfurt, Innsbruck, Lower Austria, Graz, Upper Austria, Burgenland, and Vorarlberg are all interested

Klagenfurt can definitely host it, if they get a roof over their bloated, modern but empty football stadium. It would attract guests from Slovenia and Italy.

Innsbruck can do it as well!

Lower Austria could only do it at the Airport Center with is in the Vienna suburbs. Lower Austria is quite rural like Czech Republic or Poland and has no big towns nor arenas.

Upper Austria has the second largest metropolitan area of Austria and even some venues in Linz - Ars Electronica Centre for example.

Burgenland could host it, if Sopron were part of it, but since they stayed on the Hungarian side and Burgenland only consists of little villages, I doubt they have a chance.

Vorarlberg has the third largest metropolitan area, but it's too far for most Austrians and much nearer for every Swiss person than for the majority of Austrians. I think they could host, but benefits may go to the Zürich area.

Sadly Salzburg is not interested, although they have big stadium, a big sponsor (Red Bull) and a beautiful city. It could attract many Germans in particular.

I hope that it will be Vienna.

My second choice would be Salzburg but it seems they're not interested.

You get the best fares at RyanAir for Bratislava.... I do not know if they still fly Klagenfurt, Graz and Salzburg, in case Eurovision goes there.

Well it is also a Land locked country, so it shortens the list to:

Serbia
Armenia
Macedonia
Slovakia

Financial director Richard Grasl of the ORF already told a national paper in Austria that there is a maximum budget of €20 million, to be expended by new sponsorships and grants by (local) government. The ORF is expecting a definite answer on the venue (and dates) in July.

9 venues in 7 cities seem to be in the race, some with rather small capacity and some which require reconctruction though.
