are picking their song on the 15th of March, but have already selected their artist.

I read on the other forum that Austria's song would be on March 18th but that's 1 day after song deadline.

Why do countries select so late? Just a day before the deadline? What if the song breaches a rule? (Okay I get it there are runners-up and so on, but still...)

I miss the good old days when National Finals were pretty much equally spread over February/March! Something to look forward to each weekend!

May have applied for an extension if they are after the deadline, but they have had the singer for months, surely they could have organised it before the deadline

Azerbaijan will announce their entry on 15th as the same day with Moldova, Portugal and Norway as far as I know.
Also Russia is on 8th.

No, tomorrow we have the first semi-final in Norway, and the presentation of the Austrian song.
