Composer Julie Frost performing the original version of Satellite (which is over 2 years old, by the way) in a German TV show:

The song was not written for the contest, obviously. Julie Frost is from Georgia, USA, and that's where she created that song more than 2 years ago. She had never heard of Eurovision until 2 months ago and the song made its way to the German national final without Julie Frost knowing about it. It was the management of John Gordon's label that sent it to Germany. But of course, when she found out about it, she was very excited

...and Europe liked how Lena performed Satellite. So what's your beef?

Just because you don't like the song doesn't mean that Europe voted for Lena and Satellite on frivolous grounds.

I am glad Serbia gave her 8 points Along with Greece, this song is the biggest hit from this year's ESC here.

I can't wait to see the German ESC next year, I am sure we are looking forward to one of the best ESCs ever

And yes, Lena again would be a terrible idea. She would've flopped probably too. She doesn't need it. This win is a great boost for her career and she doesn't need another participation.

Good stuff. But I doubt it's the original version. From what I understand, Jennifer Braun sung the song with the original arrangement, whereas Lena's version happens to be very different. So it seems to me like Julie Frost now recorded a new Lena-esque version.

Personally I think the slower original version of the song would better suit Julie Frost's voice. And the accoustic version she performed on German TV seems to be more the original version of

The song was on #1 for 5 weeks already in Germany. It is about to get double platinum.
