I'm so proud of DR.... for taking the risk to make a ESC Show at a old (junk) ship-yard were every thing had to be build from ground up!!! For showing the final on 3 channels DR1 (with usual speaker) DR3 (with to young guys who are very popular among the young people) and DR R: The hole show in sign language......

Take a look at Conchitas and Cleos songs in sign language VIDEO Se døveperformer fremføre den skæggede dames vinderhit | Grand Prix | DR (click on the pictures)

Ratings (DR1+DR3+DR-R) total 2.397.000 = audience share 89%
(Population in Denmark = 5.59 million pr 2012)

Looking forward to to see how ORF will give us the most "Fabulous" show in 2015

I think it'll be great but it probably won't be as daring and risky as DR did this year. Luckily it turned out amazing with B&W in the end, but I'm pretty sure DR had gone for the safe choice in shape of a traditional arena had there been a suitable one in Copenhagen, Aarhus, or Aalborg...I'm glad there wasn't though, otherwise ESC 2014 wouldn't have been as unique and I hope our hosting will also encourage other broadcasters to think a bit outside the box.

So, without sounding too patriotic, DR really set the bar high for future hosting broadcasters. They really made up for the terrible hosting in 2001.

DR made a really magnificent show this year. IMO, they really modernized how Eurovision is presented and hosted. One of my favorite years ever. xheart

Great performance from Basim on Saturday, so I voted for him :-) I think he can be satisfied with his result.
And also thanks Denmark for the great Eurovision shows!

How on the earth this could end up in top-10. SOOC
Sorry :dk:, but worst song of the final.

Yep, surely one the worst ones, it was plain boring, generic and cliché! Anyway, the title of the song is more than appropriate.

Double whammy for Denmark in todays UK Charts as Basim entered at NO.46 and last years winner by Emmelie De Forrest entered at No.73

Posting this here on the off-chance that someone might know. Is there anywhere online where you can watch again the full sign language broadcast of the show?

It's time for :dk: to leave their cliché entries behind and go bold next time!

Rainmaker would have been a fantastic entry btw.!

Absolutely. The best Eurovision ever so far! I still love Germany 2011, Norway 2010 and Finland 2007 too, but Denmark set new landmarks. I hope they won't overshadow the next Eurovisions, but I'm sure ORF will put up something completely different and still interesting....

I second that.
Thankfully, they won with a song that happens to be the least bland one compared with their recent efforts.

I was disappointed with this year's entry. With such a title, I don't know, ironically I expected something clever and somehow not bland talking about clichés. But I was wrong, the title suits the song very well. :? Juries ranked them high and I still wonder why. Rainmaker would have been so great instead.

Denmark is always too safe entry-wise, except for Only Teardrop which I find ok, the rest left me completely cold.

I'd consider "Only Teardrops" a "safe" entry too. And I can't recall any Danish entry which was kind of daring.....

Well, that doesn't mean they were all bad, but far from cool......

btw. Emmelie de Forrest's interpretation of Only Teardrops was so much better this year, and her looks were stunning! Last year, I didn't find her that beautiful...
