Hmm..some interesting things have happened here the day after N'evergreen's victory. People (mainly people who didn't like the song) have started accusing this song of plagiarism! "The Police" with "Every breath you take" is the song being refered to different forums and on DR's site.

I listened to both song and I do see the plagiarism. Listen, and judge by yourself. In my opinion the intro and verse of the Danish entry is like a slower version of The Police:

Plagarism is something for the fans to have fun with, the EBU has never and will never disqualify anyone for plagarism/breaking any other song-based rule, Sweden 2001 was ruled in a court of law as plagarism and it was allowed to participate, UK 2006 was released in 2004 and was allowed to participate... so don't get your hopes up regardless (even though this isn't a strong enough case IMO)

Yeah, but very often plagiarism doesn't necessarily have to appear that obvious so it's possible that something might happen if this news reaches EBU. Also the refrain has been accused of being stolen from ABBA. Which song it is remains untold though.

I immediately thought of the Police when I heard the song but c'mon just because there is a slight similarity at the beginning doesn't really mean it's plagiarism. We hear that every year you would think people would get tired of complaining....i guess not.

Both of them has almost the same background, still I don't think it's enough to be disqualify or something.

I think Sweden made a big mistake. This song is very good. I fell in love with the male singer's voice. It is very nice. Also the girl's voice is very nice.
