A pretty good result that I still think could have been even better if we hadn't been sacrificed as a lamb.
We came up 4th in the semi, in front of Norway who only smashed the televote in the finals. I strongly believe giving us a later running order (or at least not an immediate one adter Kääriä) could have given us 50 points more. At least the juries (and the overall skewn distribution) saved us, which I really didn't expect.

Fingers crossed we are still taking part the next year, chances are we could, my gut feeling tells me the viewership share for the finals has improved this year.

Really happy that they managed to get a TOP10 result xcheer
The girls should be proud, they did a terrific job and it seems like they really enjoyed their whole ESC journey - from preparties until the final night, becoming friends with other artists etc.

I also have to mention that the Czech ESC team is working miracles here - given they have minimal support from the broadcaster and low budget, they managed to get us into the final 4 times in our last 5 participations and to finish in the TOP11 3 times.

Few days ago, Czech TV programme director Milan Fridrich was elected into EBU TV committee for the next 2 years. This committee also oversees Eurovision. I think we will participate for at least another 2 years. Milan Fridrich was already part of this committee before from 2015 to 2019 - so at the exact time when we returned to the contest.

And every single time they pull through in the final despite an abysmal running order

Czechia knows how to reach the semi-finals. We have been in the top five four times in the last five editions.

The problem is the finals (where the EBU and the running order are mainly to blame)

Good job girls.
I still think jury could have been more generous, but I'm not going to get too worked up about it, it's a decent result overall for them.

Top 10! Oh, I'm so pleased. :cz: struggles in televote a lot in the finals, they've had bad RO and a general lack of songs that would be a casual watcher's favourite, so I'm dead chuffed that the juries helped them out, they deserved a good placing. I hope this boosts Czech interest in Eurovision, or at least stops the withdrawal rumours for a bit.

If I got to choose a winner, I think it would have been Vesna. They may not be my #1 favourite song of the season, but their performance gave me such chills. They definitely showed their doubters up. The moment at the end of the bridge where the hand folds into the 'help' symbol went over my head (and I'm sure most others') at first but when I realised it, wow. What a great performance.

This is more weighing than the running order I think. In former contests there was a break between 1st and 2nd half. Nowadays the breaks are before and after someone who needs a lot of preparation and props.
Countries with a simpler staging like Czechia are punished. Finland had big props too yet he didn’t need as much time as Loreen. Since he was last in first half a break there would have been fair because Czechia coming after was certainly overshadowed a bit. If there was the break they could have had a fresh start and a reset in people‘s minds.
