ČT: Good work Benny, but not sure about the title. We want the Czech public to be interested in the contest, and they might be driven away by the religious theming.

A very feel good song, that i was prepared to hate before listening, but actually really enjoyed when reacting to it,

a solid contender for a Czech qualification !

I am positively surprised by the song. It is a quality track and does not scream eurovision-y or "for the contest" at all which is a good thing. I could easily imagine myself playing it on a party. I like it much more than 'Kemama' which left me cold.

That is something I fear will happen. It’s just not very Eurovision.
Omaga is slowly making its way up in my top 10 but would I vote for it in the finals? No. Do I love the song and would play it at my parties? Yes!

I'm not sure if it's my very favourite so far, because I'm always hopelessly indecisive like that, but I really like it. Hopefully it won't get a "revamp" that makes it worse like Kemama did.

I believe Benny said that he's not going to go through the same revamp drama again he had last year for this year's entry. He's putting out what he feels is the best and that's it. Unless he's being forced by the delegation to revamp the song, if not I think this should be the final version.

I found this interview quite interesting - I'd say 2/3 are eurovision related, like what's Vlček's approach towards producing, how they got to write Omaga with Benny, how Vlček's own negative opinion about Eurovision changed because of Pam Rabbit, how he is surprised by all the reaction videos and the comments, how he takes notes from those comments (though that doesn't mean he would plan to make any changes for the entry), etc, etc
They also made another song together with Benny, it should be out after Eurovision.

Do I recall correctly that Benny made 3 songs for Eurovision and then the delegation chose the best one between them? This could be one of the other songs that could've gone to Eurovision but weren't chosen.

I think @nofuxCZ mentions on the first page of this thread that the other two songs were produced in cooperation with We All Poop guys and Osama Verse-Atile, so it's maybe even yet another one.

In any case, it's only good news if Benny has some more of this stuff in store. I mostly dislike his songs in Czech, but his Eurovision entries are a positive surprise.

Yeah, his Eurovision entries are quite different from his other songs that I know. I don't mind his songs in Czech but I really don't like his slower songs so it's a relief he decided to go with a fun, light-hearted song instead.

I'm quite curious how he'll be able to pull it off live. I thought he wasn't a very good vocalist (I believe he even became a singer by accident) but his Kemama performance in Vidbir was surprisingly good. I think Omaga is more difficult to sing but it's more similar to Benny's normal singing style so my hopes are up.

Personally I think Kemama was a stronger entry. But Benny has a very strong voice and although this doesn`t really give me that much when I listen to it in studio version, maybe it is a song that can grow live. For now, I will give points.

The trouble with Czech entries is that they come from the Czech Republic and thus are not subject to hypes and permanent discussion as are other more "established" countries in the contest.
As for Benny and hist this year´s effort, I consider it a pretty solid piece of music, which ain´t perfect and not a contender for victory but it is Grand Final material allright...of course, the 2nd Semi ist pretty tough to predict. And as I said, it is a Czech song, not making it easier for Benny...omaga, I hope he qualifies!

It was a long time coming but finally I've upgraded Omaga to points Benny deserves it considering how much I've been listening to his song. It's so earwormy and fun. Always manages to make me smile. I really believe that people are sleeping on this entry. I think that top 10 in the final is a big possibility.
