I hope they won't put her too early in the final, she got the earliest starting position of the second half of the semi already

I once said that even last place in the final would be a smashing success and I still think that our mission was already completed in Tuesday. :) So, bitching about final draw would be pointless. If the viewers won´t remember I Stand near the end of the show, then it´s probably not good enough to place well anyway. We shall see.

With her being between Russia and Cyprus in the semi and now in second place for the final, I wonder if someone at SVT has a grudge against a Czech person...

The drawing paraonia is just in eurofans mind. It's proven that it doesn't really matter.
Before Conchita, people had the theory that being in the first half is a bad thing...even with two winners in a row allocated in the 1st half some people still believe it... xshrug

Unfortunately, we are not Australia. Sweden is not going to pull us to the highest place.
Feel reall sorry for Gabi. She really suffered because of that cheap australian piece of...music

If it didn't matter, they wouldn't have decided to ditch the random draw back in 2013, and they wouldn't have put Australia 13th if it was that meaningless. No one wants 2nd place for a reason, you can't stand out and end up being forgotten.

People need to STOP using Conchita and Mans as examples about winning from the first half or about other situations (I don't know how many times I've read tonight, "France performing 11th is great, Choncita performed there!" As if they were remotely similar xdoh). The majority of countries will NEVER get the pimping and special treatment those two got. More real examples would be Yohanna in '09, Eric in '11, and the Babushki in '12 but those are the exception to the rule. Performing 2nd is flat out terrible no matter how you spin it. Everybody knows it and there's a reason why nobody wants it

That is true, but someone has to get it. And I think SVT wouldn't give the #2 slot to a country that placed very well in their semi-final. So I'm guessing the Czech Republic unfortunately finished outside the top 5 of semi-final 1.

Let's see this from the positive side - this means the #2 spot death curse will finally be broken!
I think that being after Laura May help her stand out like in the semi-finali.

Of course, someone has to get it, but it proves that the draw does matter. Otherwise, they could as well put a hot fave 2nd without hurting their chances, but that's not the case.

Last year, I remember people saying why would they even consider putting Sweden as openers because they were the favourites... So, as long as a favourite doesn't have these early slots, the draw suddenly doesn't matter.

Well, it would've been better if she was starting right after an uptempo favourite, but anyway... use your chances, Gabriella! I will vote for you!

I thought her semi performance lacked the depth I was expecting/hoping for. I believe she was 9th or 10th, hence the death slot now.

Bottom 5? Are you kidding me? Maybe in televoting but definitely not in jury voting. I predict that it will end up like :md: 2013

The fact that Gabi got the infamous 2 does not necessarily mean that she finished 9th or 10th in the Semi.
In 2014 :by: got the 2 in the final and they were 5th in the Semi - In 2013 it was :lt: turn and he finished 9th in is Semi (with a pretty damn bad song though)
