It's actually one of the few songs this Eurovision year that I would listen to again.

It's kinda interesting, and it does sound like a grower.

Why does he sound like Dylan Mulvaney 😭

Well and the video reminded me of CH!PZ in Black and I'm listening to that song now instead, cause this is giving me nothing.
The sound of his voice is not for me, I don't like the production and the hook is weak, not catchy enough (especially since I have now a earworm of a fucking CH!PZ song because of this).

Oh boy, I can still remember when this was promoted heavily on Super RTL. Memories that should´ve better remained forgotten. :ROFLMAO:

The title says it all, come on... It's the first entry I've forced myself to listen to all the way through. I don't like his voice, and if the staging is just okay and he competes directly with Red Sebastian, he could give us a surprising NQ for Cyprus. I'm not convinced this has that much potential. Unfortunately, Cyprus disappoints me again :(

:2: points because the instrumental sometimes has interesting parts, even in this messed-up production.

So this is FULLY in my frame of reference and in my arena - and I did find myself wanting to play it again after it had finished thanks mostly to the beats and the synths, but the vocals aren't really giving me what I need.

I was worried watching his cover of Fuego over the weekend as I thought he sounded a bit anonymous in his style and delivery, and there's definitely something missing here as well. I worry he'll have no presence delivering this live, and he'll be overpowered by the production.

Red Sebastian - like his vocal tone and stylings or not - has a presence and cuts through the track, especially when he goes into falsetto. Theo will struggle unless he can boost his power - I think back to how :dk: 2023 sounded so wispy and weak in terms of the vocals, and that's how I fear this will come across.

It's a :6: for now, as this one is in a crowded group of bangers - it could grow, but just not sure how much of a hindrance to my enjoyment the vocals will be.

This is in danger of being a NQ as it is now, live might elevate it ofc.
I think this is the type of song that won't work well with studio version but a great one for staging. I think it will qualify but be overshadowed by most other entries in the final.

Hum... this is a hard one. I hate a few parts but love some. Not sure if it's going to qualify. If Darude didn't qualify in 2019 I can see this struggling. Unless they stage this AMAZINGLY but considering the last stagings Cyprus has done I don't expect nothing out of extraordinary.

BTW, those lyrics are 100% AI generated

It's like an awful ad for Toskovat Perfumes.

Yeah Croatia definitely won't be happy to see this song in the same semi as them...

I feel like this has a kind of vibe to it that I feel like I should be loving but I'm still feeling a bit ambivalent about it right now...there are parts of it I like but there are more parts to it that I'm not feeling. There are points where I find the lyrics and vibe of the song kind of offbeat....I wish they leaned into that a bit more rather than trying to make it a dance anthem.

I'm sorry but: how tf can some of you can find some common points btw this with Faithless' "Insomnia", besides two notes in the bassline?
if you want to talk about the real Faithless spirit, let's keep it to "SALVA MEA". (than marcus&martinus producers clearly stealt last year for their 'kinda forgettable' song.)

What a mess, I think the worst part is his vocals they're not pleasant to listen to.

Cyprus has been in my top 10 every year since 2016, except for 2020. They get a lot of criticism for their entries, but for me they're always usually well produced quality songs, that are well staged and are generally effective. Not everything needs to be a risk or reinventing the wheel. This however is such a hard miss. I'd say i'm disappointed, but this year my expectations for Cyprus were low based on what we knew. There is elements I like but there is also many I don't, his voice is so quiet and overpowered by the song, the verses in hushed tones I don't particularly like and It feels kinda cringe. Cyprus can do so much better than this tbh. I'm gonna be VERY generous with a :5:

Actually, Im gonna do a 180° here xgiggle, after a few listens this grew on me. Its interesting enough for me to want to go back to listen to it again ( Im trying to understand whats the entity that the song is about? Narcissus? ) and Im happy this is turning out to have replay value for me, coz Im only revisiting only a couple of entries this year so far.

Slightly better & definitely bolder than I expected from Cyprus but I usually have my expectations set low for this country. 7 points in the poll for me. I enjoy the hardcore EDM-y production and the verses are cool, the chorus and somewhat the overall impact & structure of the song though seems to be nowhere as strong and compelling for me personally as it stands now. Cyprus might NQ this year I think. I'm also not compelled on the quality of his vocals.

I like most oof  Elsie Bay's work even though she saves her better songs for herself but happy she finally gets to Eurovision. Kontopolous not so much. Had no expectations for Cyprus coming into this year selecting a virtual unknown again like Theo Evan so hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise.

Where did you get that meme? xlmao

It's from the Californians series of skits on SNL. It's been a while since I watched those hilarious parodies of soap operas so I cannot pinpoint the exact one but there wasn't all that many so I think one can find it pretty quickly.
