Minus One was dead last in the televote in 2015. There is a reason why Cyprus went with an internal choice as the juries put them in first place and they desperately wanted the band to win in 2015. So since they can't win by televote, why not just push them through anyway?

Then they bring G:Son on board to make it a bit more Eurovision friendly and provide Mass appeal. I guess it's needed as "Shine" just was so average. I don't know what G:Son will come up with but I have a feeling it's some watered down version of what they would usually bring to the table.

G:Son wrote Euphoria and several other songs that were great but I don't get why broadcasters are relying on him this much. I mean his success since the 2012 win is limited with a bunch of flops among them.

In a nutshell, this is an underwhelming choice for me.

Has-been won't win. This is exactly what they want)) How to send a decent song and qualify don't win. Or they're in awe from his CV/resumé.
There are rumours that he will be involved in Armenian entry as well.

I have no problems if some producer like G:son brings some tweaks to songs, like he did with Georgia 2015
As long as Minus One made the songs first - Just like "Shine" could've used an overhaul if they'd have won in 2015

The best thing about this news that their Eurovision entry definitely won't be called Shine.

It will probably be called Time instead.

G:Son and rock music: two great things that have no business together. I can't say this gives me hope that Cyprus will be in my good graces again.

Just watched their song for last year's NF. They already have a Westernized, modern sound, why need G:Son?

Agreeing with most people here - I'm actually a fan of G:Son but I'm pessimistic about how he'll go as part of this combination. He's made plenty of songs I like, including some that aren't very popular (eg. Georgia 2013), but the only time I've seen him attempting rock was that Neverstore entry from this year's MF, which was mind-numbingly bland. Hopefully he'll have something better for an internal selection, but I'm not confident.

François only had one coach turning back... Yet the 4 coaches said he's got a good voice... But I'm not sure if he will advance a lot in The Voice France...
