Since I had to work very long today this will be a short review.

I give :hr: a :5:. I like the verses a lot and the tension that´s built there, but then we get this strange part that sounds like a song for children where he´s counting ingredients for a cakte, the chorus is also not that pleasant in my ears. Then it´s repeating again and in the end Marko who actually has a nice voice screams a bit too much for me.

All in all a bit too disharmonious to give this a higher ranking, but it´s still not terrible for me. I think the country can qualify for the final, but Lasagnas success won´t be matched by light years. 😐

The song reminds me of what I hear, when people sitting next to me in the bus watching tiktok without earphones: every five seconds you hear a mutilated piece of something before it is quickly exchanged for the next one. Nothing sounds interesting, all of it together sounds annoying and nothing fits together. But hey - perhaps that's what people like about it because it matches their behavior of media consumption.

An extra reason why I cannot connect to this concoction of an entry...

And I´m saying this as an internet addict myself. But I feel like a complete outsider listening to this.

I really don´t like bringing in age difference when it comes to making arguments. The "my generation" and "your generation" type of stuff.

But damn this entry is making it so hard for me to resist the temptation.

The live performance for this song needs a strong revamp, but the song itself is not that bad. People were expecting a Baby Lasagna 2.0 and of course it didn't happen. It's a :6: for me.

I'm listening now to Rijeka of Nina Kraljic that came 2nd in DORA a couple years ago. It's even more beautiful than I remember, actually a pity she came only 2nd and that during her 1st Eurovision she got sick which badly affected her vocals and back then you couldn't help yourself with prerecorded backing vocals. I guess I needed to cleanse myself with something beautiful from Croatia after this song came to my mind earlier today.

Who else has the feeling this is gonna be the entry that makes everyone go "Whoa, it's actually awesome?!?" when they see the rehearsals, like Cezar back in the day, Gustaph, "Love Is On My Side", etc?

Duh, it's been my favourite ever since it was chosen and even though the performance together with the song might have come off a bit rough around the edges, it has the same potential as Doomsday Blue did.

The main problem of this song is actually the "Tasty tasty yum yum tasty" part, that is totally disconnected to the vibe of the song and will turn off lots of potential voters.

I don't fully understand why people don't like it. It makes sense to me... He's making poisoned cake and then he's all fake sweet to make the person consume it xshrug

I like the 'tasty tasty yum yum' part, it adds some flavour to the poison in the cake. It's the screams in the end that throw me off, the live ones specifically.

Like, it's an interesting song, but it's vocally quite demanding. He needs to switch his technique a lot and that is not an easy thing to do and i feel he was not yet ready for the level the song really needs in a live to make it work.

The problem about this entry is not only the song itself, and the bad vocals towards the end of the song.
This guy gives me negative vibes.

For those who say that Marko sings badly...Marko is one of the best Croatian singers. He was very sick on Dora, he even lost his voice (he couldn't talk for 24 hours so he communicated through written messages). At the Eurovision he will sound right, I don't have doubts about it.

Here's an example of how Marko normally sounds:
