I know, even I had celebrated 2000 as the first year of the new millennium. Otherwise, it would have been only me and a bunch of geeks celebrating 2001 as the first millennium year.

No no no! I totally got what 94ayd said. But when we are refering to the 90's we mean 90-99. So when we talk about ESC and the 00's we mean from 2000 until 2009! I accept the way we count the decades but when we talk about Eurovision we'll count the years according to 70's, 80's, 90's etc and not with the actual decades (2001-2010).

There have only been two songs in my entire experience of watching Eurovision where after watching their performance for the first time I knew they had to win. Those two are Fairytale and Wild Dances.

Both had a great, distinctive song, with a performance that fitted perfectly with it. It's a tough choice, but Ruslana, just edges it.
