I simply don't understand comparing RS with Nemo, I myself see the songs differently.
Again very subjective..I mostly agree with this but doesn't change the fact that the other entries are weaker.
HonestlyUnfortunately Jelle is not the huge fanfavorite here.
Probably because of the unfortunate timing aka obvious inspiration.
My point was that if anyone else than Red Sebastian wins then Belgium will lose immediately the first place in the odds.Again very subjective..
My favorite was Mentissa: she oozed charisma and made it look super simple. Her song’s a tad repetitive and numb, but it does sound cute and current and she nailed the PRESENTATION.
GRACE is also interesting to me, especially because of nice afrobeat..
Belgium should have already lost its 1st place, I have no idea what it's still doing there, its clearly not winning with any of these. My point was that if anyone else than Red Sebastian wins then Belgium will lose immediately the first place in the odds.
While i also think that Mentissa has charisma and she is very good, the song simply is not interesting enough for the wider audiences which will listen to the songs 1-2 times during the shows.
While i also don't think that Red Sebastian has an actual winning entry, he still has the only entry that has clear potential of a high placing. Because among all the other national finals and already selected entries there is nothing that gives top5 vibes and in reality i would say that most of national finals this year are way too mediocre.Belgium should have already lost its 1st place, I have no idea what it's still doing there, its clearly not winning with any of these.
I don't have that feeling at all, so i do not agree...Sometimes less is more...My point was that if anyone else than Red Sebastian wins then Belgium will lose immediately the first place in the odds.

I've got nothing against the song but everyone knows that sending a song that reminds people of the previous year's winner is a great way to lead really early betting odds, then come nowhere near winning.Gustaph is wearing a huge red hat on purpose.
Come on,prevent Red Sebastian from happening at all costs, please!

Yeah, I agree with you and @mauve too but I can imagine lots of people will make that comparison. For me, it's closer to "It's my life" than "The Code."I'm actually with @mauve on this one. "Strobe Lights" doesn't remind me of "The Code" at all but I was just showing Red Sebastian's performance to my mother earlier today and she was like "Meh - that's really bad. He's like Nemo!" after 20 seconds.
I just think it's because of his high vocals, the tone of his voice and his outward appearance (his outfit is kinda non-binary-leaning as well. People will probably draw that comparision in May as well... but to me, the songs are really very different.
Nemo got a very memorable hook, it got a very pop"tastic" arrangement and Nemo hit every note.
Red Sebastian's performance was kinda mixed (he sounded very out of breath in the verses), the song is basically just about creating some atmosphere (it's just some beat and him showing off his vocals).
