VRT does always things fantastic : good show, idea of 5 songs, well produced but it always feels flat (Axel and Laura)
RTBF seems to be lost each time, sorting out little birds but manage to do it well (Roberto and Loïc)

if only they could do things together : a great show with 5 amazing acts.

This can have a nice 1 point from me. Not Ireland levels of offensively cookie cutter and bland, but comes mighty close.

Just caught up with Amaryllis' performance of "Kick The Habit". By no means is the song extraordinary or anything but it stands out and has a charmingly quirky performance. The song actually has an identity of it's own. I would have much more appreciated Belgium taking a risk with it.

At this moment in time I don't agree with the people saying Laura is going to fare poorly at Eurovision. I think her song has come at the right time. It can probably pretty safely ride on the waves of this phase for light funk pop that's happening at the moment. I'll repeat what I said when I first heard this song and watched the performance though.. weak sauce. Weak sauce all round.

Warning incoming pessimistic lament: I'm really worried that 2016 is going to be as bad for my own personal taste as 2015. Of all the NF songs known, i'm only hyped for one song that stands no chance. Nearly all of the internally picked artists don't have me excited, nor am I pleased about the countries that have shortlisted their artists down to a few.... save me Kaliopi, and perhaps Georgia.

Time to get a new music taste? What song is the one you're excited about?

I'm excited about an ultra camp piece of schlager from Finland called "Draamaa"xheat I suppose there are a few other songs scattered around some of the NFs that are somewhat interesting but none have got me going crazy. And nein, I shan't be getting a new music tastexsnooty:lol: I'm going to be sad though if Eurovision starts to lose me. I'm just not feeling excited this year. The type of music i'm passionate about outside of the contest is seldom (if at all) seen at Eurovision, so I follow the contest for different reasons, some of which are probably wrong. If I wanted to hear stuff like what Ireland and Belgium are sending this year I would just turn on the radio. I like when things are a little bonkers at Eurovision.

I've listened to all the songs but the winning one and I have to say this was again a really poor NF from VRT. Gosh, everything was so blah, don't people have any inspiration at all?

-"In our Nature": decent song out of the bunch imo. At the least there was an attempt to propose something different visually. The beginning of the song sounded good but as soon as the chorus started, it was just a let down, it built up a little bit but it lacked power when it needed it unfortunately. The singer was average. Overall, it was kinda repetitive as well, so... Next!

-"I'm not Lost": Don't see the hype behind this. A cute-faced guy with unexciting vocals, singing a bland pop song: I mean I've seen and heard all that before, sorry (not sorry). Had Tom won, I would have been sure not to like Belgium this year tbh. There's absolutely nothing to write home about... next!

-"Everybody Aches": It was officially the most boring act for me. The singer was as motionless and expressionless as a statue (maybe trying to copy Boggie in this regard ), her voice... (what voice?) and her song were as anonymous and unimpressive as it could be.

-"Kick the Habit": I like the unusual strings arrangements in this one, but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. I mean it would have been pretty decent with a skilled singer (because she's plain annoying to Watch and listen to imo) and a less irritating chorus.

Don't know what to expect with "What's the Pressure" tbh, but I can't say I'll regret any of these non-qualifiers.

Just listened to all 5 songs briefly last night. What on earth were the Belgians thinking? ANY of the other 4 songs would be much much better

The quality was there, maybe not abundantly, but they had to go for the worst one.

Giving Belgium and Laura another chance today. And ... nothing... nothing..... except annoying. I admit this is not my favourite musical genre - but surely there are much better songs in the genre. And MUCH better singers and artists! Laura just doesnt have the voice - not even to carry a song like this.
I will keep my original score; 2.

That's quite impossible to say if Laura Tesoro would pass through the semi final.
Indeed, we have only 3 songs, 5 at the end of the week... Then ?

I was chocked by the negative results in the voting... I really like it, it's cheesy and sounds more like the 80's. But she is fresh and owns it. And it gets so stuck in my head. I gave it 10 ;)

Compared to the bland song from Ireland and the okay Albanian song, this is miles better.
