I'm so proud of what Tom has achieved. Someone mentioned it already but he really is sort of our national hero! Never in our wildest dreams we would've thought he'd end up so high when he was introduced a few months ago. Sixth place is amazing, and I'm sure he could've ended up so much higher if it wasn't for those countries that keep voting for their neighbours. If that wasn't the case he was probably second or who knows he might've even won the contest. But we're still Belgium, even our own neighbours don't vote en masse for us. Prove of that: The NL and France.

Thought he really deserved to win it all, just because I thought musically, this song was the more challenged one, miles away from the rest and the performance was just perfect with the right amount of interaction with the public. It was even better than the first time in the semis. Until it became clear that Germany had it in the bag, I never lost hope for our song and that's never happened before. Wow we really had a strong song this year. Still can't believe it. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be for us this year.

However, Congrats Tom and thanks so much for putting us back on the eurovision map. Hope we keep up the pace and keep sending some awesome performers like Tom. He really gained my respect during this journey but I was already a fan of his voice during X-factor so I knew he could pull it off. Now I'm so happy, relieved and proud he did just that! Can't wait to see what he does next.

We definitely have a new star here in Belgium, euhm I mean Europe!

I think it helped you this year that the song was not specificly written to be a eurovision song, those don't always do so well.
While he might not become the biggest star in europe he did manage to pick up quite a few fans all over the continent.

I am still so proud of Germany for giving their 12 points to Belgium. It's one of my favorites and hopefully will give belgium a big boost in their confidence cause they can easily win this thing. Tom was good, I liked his song about himself and his guitar. I actually thought he might win I thought the other guitar player with a kind of similar song diminished his chances, otherwise he would have definitly stood out of all. Good job, Tom!

this was the final of x-factor in Belgium.
And I'm not quite sure, but I think Tom and the other guy in the final must sang the same song.
So I didn't think he wrote it self
But don't shoot me if i'm wrong.

EDIT: I just found out that on his first album, this song is also on the album. So maybe he did write it himself.

You're right, I didn't include them because it's not exactly our neighbour country. The UK is still alone on their own island I'm afraid, though I still can't believe their scorecard. How on earth did they not give any points to our song. I always thought this song leaned the most towards the UK and Ireland. Thank you Ireland for your big points but the UK has got to be ashamed! It shocked me when I learned about their points. Were they perhaps jealous of our beautiful song because it seems that both the jury or televoters couldn't care less about it?

By the way, tonight Tom will perform live on Flemish tv, in Hasselt. It's very close from where I live. No doubt about it that there will probably be some youtube videos around later tonight.

Wow, as I'm writing this, his song is on tv again!!! hehe tomorrow he's a guest at our local tv station, and they're telling that they're gonna pick him up with a helicopter after they celebrated him in his hometown. Lucky him!
