I doubt Mariah Gregory has a chance. I'd say it's even a 50/50 chance that she doesn't make it to the finals.
It's all my guesswork, of course, but judging by the stuff i read around in russian/belarusian sources about the NF, it seems like the mood is to go local.
Belarus needs to salvage its image from last year. Naviband did wonders for the country in Eurofans' eyes. Then we took 100 steps back (totally intentional hint at Meladze song that seemed to have "inspired" Forever lol) with Alekseev. The jury and people behind the selection will try to "save the face" of the country. Conveniently there's no televote, just juries. They have total control over who what where and why. Since the points are given and backed up by critique live, I hope that adds to transparency and we will end up with a quality entry, not just smth that was bought or "suggested" by TPTB.
At least that's how i see it developing.
