The 12th place that Josh Gabriel and Meredith Call achieved in NSC 50 is gonna be tough to beat, but the show must go on. For NSC 51, it's gonna be the 2002 song by VNV Nation called Beloved (hoping it's not already been entered), but which video to enter has not yet been decided.

It's between a radio version with homemade video in not the best quality

I'm not really surprised.

Gonna see if there's anyone who disagrees with that, and then choose video one of the first days next week.

The long version!!!

A song as great as this one deserves to be heard for as long as possible.

No, really, I'd prefer the longer version but you probably have better chances for points from more people when you send the shorter one.

I agree, but I usually listen to songs that are 6 minutes or longer, so I'm biased. But yeah, I think you might be right, I tried sending a full length song once, and it ended 3rd last in the semi... This one has lyrics tho...

The long version is far more popular too, on YouTube there are loads of videos with the long version, but there's only one video with the short one.

This wasn't easy, because personally I prefer the longer version too (1-3). However, as zechhh pointed out, the chances of getting points are better with the shorter version, because I'm afraid people who's not really into this type of music might become tired of it during the 7 minutes. It's not really the Balearica Island style to be tactical about choosing entries, because I know I'm not gonna win this, but being in a final was fun, so I'm hoping this could be the extra touch to make that happen again. So it's gonna be the short version in NSC, but you can still find the long version here if you need it.

VNV Nation didn't finish as high as we hoped, so maybe I should have gone for the long version after all. We'll never know. What I do know, is that the entry for NSC 52 is going to be Energy 52 - Café Del Mar. One of the old eternal classics, a tune that will never die. And now it's also going to be part of the NSC history.

Hehe, I know what you mean, the Three 'N One Remix is a lot more famous than the original. Possibly better too, but I wanna give the original a go for once, it's always been a bit in the shadows compared to the remix.

And now on to something COMPLETELY different. :shock:

Balearica Island is a bit like Cyprus, it's divided. The part of Balearica Island that doesn't show up on the postcards is a much darker side, with a different type of sound. It's called Defqonia, and this edition they managed to get their sound into the NSC. Balearica Island NSC officials are still not sure how that happened, but it doesn't matter now, as the Balearica Island entry for NSC 53 is DJ Activator & Francesco Zeta - Fear And Dark, which is a hardstyle cover of Iron Maiden's classic Fear Of The Dark:

Rumors were saying that there were Defqonian plans about invading the NSC, but no one took it seriously. They were very mistaken. :twisted:

There are also rumors that the NSC minister on Balearica Island (me) is actually a spy from Defqonia, and an investigation is in progress.

Yeah, it is, and I think there's gonna be a lot of hate. Hope I'm wrong tho, as hardstyle is one of my 3 favorite genres (and I'm actually going on a boat trip from Stockholm to Riga this week, and there's gonna be a LOT of hardstyle there).

I started my "career" as a music fan with heavy metal and eurodance, and now I'm going back to my roots. Heavy metal wouldn't really fit the style of Balearica Island, so it's gonna be eurodance. And the entry for NSC54 is 2 Unlimited - No Limit, one of the most popular dance tracks ever, and according to Wikipedia, it reached number one in at least 17 countries in 1993. Happy days.

The electronic dance music scene has had a reputation of being very drug friendly (even tho there's a lot of drugs in many other genres as well), and there are some songs that aren't doing anything to stop that rumour. And when you look at the title, the NSC 55 entry from Balearica Island is one of them. Two Mexican psytrance producers have spiced up Mario's mushrooms a bit, and this is the result. Let's go!
