If they send some random meh ballad we'll all collectively decide to stan Armenia to victory. x

That should get them worried.

I got a feeling it's not going to be Cleopatra. It's just a way to divert our attention and we will get the basic ballad.
It won't be basic, their first description informed us it will have ethno elements, like Sabina Babayeva in 2012 and later Dilara Kazimova...
Probably this Scars entry is smth like that...

Ugh why can't Baku be in Tahiti or something.

Lynda would make sure it is.

All Scars videos deleted from Youtube, Cleopatra remains there. I'll go mad if anyone is not singing that bop. At least I want Little Big to buy the song and sing it.

Oh no. I guess it's RIP Cleopatra.

Depends on how you interpret it. Maybe they just want Scars to vanish and pretend it never happened.

I don't recall Dilara's entry having "ethno elements"? I need to go back listening to that one, Sabina's entry had just minimal elements thrown in, but for someone who always claim there is lack of "authenticity" when it comes to entries with ethnic elements, i'm a bit surprised you're not calling this one out?, I'd say the song takes the price as one of the least authentic ones since it was a Swedish produced and written westernized Pop ballad in English where the "ethno elements" were thrown in last minute.

I mean I like both of the entries tbh, but they were Swedish written Pop ballads imported especially for ESC, let's not fool ourselves they were anything else.

Well yes, they were written by foreigners, but they had ethno elements and they were real ones, we can't deny it..
Even Sabina included mugham singer in the end.. :)

Loving the double standards here... so many times you were calling entries "faux-ethno" that were actually produced and written by natives and were rich on ethno/local elements, and not just imported entries from abroad with absolutely no connection to the countries nor the singers with just some random, limited, elements thrown into the mix to falsely claim that they were somehow "local"... I mean it's fine if you liked the songs, I did too, but it's really pick-and-choose based on personal taste of the songs (genres) when you claim some as authentic (that truly weren't) and some as not.

Well, I call fake ethno elements like Tina Karol entry from Ukraine, Elena Georghe from Romania and similar..they are clearly fake ethno entries..if smth is written by foreigner doesn't mean it can't incorporate real local instruments LOL :D

It's all based on your own taste in the end, because I don't see how an imported Swedish penned westernized Pop ballad in English that just randomly throws in some "local instruments" can be considered more "authentic" than entries that really sound like they come from the countries they represent? I think Elena is a bad example here though, but that's not my point since you claimed this for many entries throughout the years that you just don't personal like since you seem to simply dislike ethno-Pop as a genre, and I guess that's fine to dislike since it's personal taste, but to claim authenticity when it's clearly not when it fits your personal taste, now that's pretty convenient...

@A-lister

I didn't say they are authentic, where did I say that, I just said they incorporated real ethno elements..that doesn't need to make them authentic per se.. :)
