The names of the jurors that will select the candidates that will compete in the 2012 Azerbaijani Eurovision national selection have been announced. A total of 119 candidates will go through an audition in order to showcase their talent, musical and vocal skills in their quest to qualify for the next phase and ultimately compete in the Eurovision national final and represent Azerbaijan in Baku.
The auditions for the 119 potential candidates that have submitte their applications in order to particpate in the Azerbaijani Eurovision 2012 qualifier have kicked off today on ITV.During the auditions scheduled to be held between the 5th-7th of November, each participant will have to present two compositions, showcasing his/her vocal potential and portraying his/her dancing skills.
The names of the jurors that will select the candidates have been revealed: archor women Leyla Aliyeva and Husniya Maharramova, who have been the Azerbajaini Eurovision commentators ever since Ictimai's first ever Eurovision broadcast in Azerbaijan,resentative of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, editor-in-chief of the OK magazine Zahra Badalbayli, honored artist Tunzala Agayeva and people’s artist Natavan Sheikhova.
Through this auditions phase, the 119 candidates will be narrowed down to a yet undetermined number of participants that will make the televised stage of the Azerbaijani national selection for Eurovision 2012.
The hearings will take place on November 3rd, 5th and 7th. A jury will then assess the vocal abilities and stage skills of the hopefuls, who will have the possibility to perform a total of two songs each.
It is expected that the line-up for the Azerbaijani 2012 selection will be announced by mid-November. The same system that was used last year, when Eldar & Nigar were chosen as the country's representatives, will apply this time too. A combination of jury voting and televoting will be responsible to deliberate the outcome of the Azerbaijani Eurovision national selection.
