Deban is calling Austria a „borderline qualifier at best“, which makes me very confident, that we will win this semi.
I mean it’s not even worth talking about him but he’s definitely not a „music professional“. He’s more the master of salty comments and judging based only on personal comments…

I think the staging also doesn’t impress us that much because we all have El Diablo in mind and it’s pretty similar to that smh. The casual viewer at home will have a different point of view.

Vocally there’s nothing to worry about this year.

In my opinion :at: :au: :sl: :am: :cy: are the Songs for the top 5 in this SF (in no particular order).

He's 62, a boomer, totally out of touch, only speaking for the Fernsehgarten audience

I am surprised seeing some thinking of this in the lower part of the top. 10 of the semi or even NQ, like what am I missing here? The entry is ridiculously above everything else in Semi 2, none come even remotely close to this. I mean they must be literally having the worst staging in ESC history and Blanka-esque vocals to be considered borderline qualifiers with that "competition" they face in Semi 2. If some considers Loreen a standout in whole ESC'23, this is Loreen x10 in its Semi.

To highlight the art of writing song lyrics Eurostory presents the Eurostory Best Lyrics Award – THE award for the best Eurovision song lyrics. This year’s award is won by Austria: by the lyricists of the song Who the hell is Edgar? by Teya & Salena.

Who came second and third?

Second: Italy (Marco Mengoni), Due vite
Third: Armenia (Brunette), Future lover

Who’s in the jury?
The winner was chosen by an international expert jury of more than 40 authors, journalists, publishers, songwriters and former Eurovision participants from 20 countries (75% of the votes, list of names below) – as well as the readers of Eurostory.nl (voting through the website, 25% of the votes).

Not thinking the same. Austria will definitely qualify, no doubt at all about it, but Loreen probably won her semi... I don't think Teya and Salena will win their semi, I'm more confident with them being 3rd or 4th place in Semi2.

I can't wait to hear this song live tonight, it already sounds and looks promising! The crowd will go wild: dance and sing "poe, poe, poe, poe, poe" together!

I think the staging is fine. They probably had the jury in mind, when they decided against recreating the funny music video. The beginning and the ending with Edgar Allan Poe are still funny and the camera work makes the performance look more dynamic than the previously released rehearsal footage.

In the leak, the audience wanted Austria to fake-qualify, for what it's worth.

Am I the only one who thinks Andi Knoll is totally out of touch?

That was great! The staging did lack that certain 'oomph' but from the 0,003-part in I was hooked!

I don't like the staging and camera work. Too static.

9th in the odds, soon 8th. 50% winning Chance for semi. What a rallye in the odds. Nice

Underwhelmed by the staging for this one, but as many have said, it is admittedly hard to stage. Still gave it some votes, however.

They should have leaned harder into the message (throw some kind of nod to Spotify to draw the 0.003 message home), and gone for a stageplay-type setting where she’s sitting at a desk with a typewriter

I loved the staging, all sorrows blown away. Different approach than in the video which is hard to digest for the video lovers but the staging was glorious.
