Everything I feared for. Gosh this year keeps serving me nothing.

But at least it will Q so we can stop the yearly "everyone hates Austria"-claim in this thread.
To be fair, not all :at: Users think that there is some conspiracy against :at: going on

While Halo was obviously made for streaming services this is really for Eurovison. Peaks and valleys, structered but never boring. Every part is better than the part before (Girls Aloud vibes). Staging should underline the different parts.

:12:
Yeah, I never thought, but yeah it does have a Girls Aloud vibe to it, I like that comparison.

I think it's the third time that Austria has made a contribution to the ESC criticizing the music industry. 1971 Marianne Mendt with "Musik", 1977 Schmetterlinge with "Boom Boom Boomerang" and now this. The first two times went totally wrong.

It is catchy and the lyrics are good.

I will give it 8 points in the poll as it is not necessarily my cup of tea.

Seeing the reactions to Austria's entry, I was thinking that maybe it was a very weird song, but when I played it, I couldn't quite recognize the descriptions. It's not a song that stands out in the way that Finland's, Spain's or Moldova's songs do, just to name a few examples. The lyrics of Who The Hell Is Edgar are mystifying though, while the lyrics of Cha Cha Cha are rather basic.

As others have pointed out, the live version might sound very differently - I'm especially concerned about the last part of the song where there are some nice vocal elements on the studio track.

But for now, it's above average for me. First of all, I like that it's contemporary.

I really love the second half of the song, I think the first half is still growing on me a bit. I'll give it a :10: for now but it might have a chance to be upgraded if they pull off the live performance in May.

I think there's a very high chance of this qualifying as long as they can perform the song live without it being a mess.

i don't mean this in a shady way but i find it quite astounding that they found something in all this that gave this song any meaning because even the girls admitted it was basically about nothing and just for fun (and that the edgar allen poe comparison - being a successful writer while lots of other writers struggle - only made sense afterwards. but yea good for them)
