16-year-old (according to management homepage) Chris Steger was a guest on ORF this evening. Because I'm very busy with "Starmania 21" unfortunately no translation, sorry. Even our friends in Germany will have a hard time understanding Chris. He speaks a completely unadulterated Salzburg dialect.

I'd say Eurovision 2021 mainly proved that individuality and courage will be rewarded. Let's hope that ORF will really try something new - in a decent way of course!

In general I see a lot of potential difficulties with an entry in german. At least with an entry in any Austrian dialect. This would be a 100% flop except for it being somehow totally magical/unique. We simply don't have a melodic language like and also no slavic language which is somehow understandable for lots of neighboring countries.

I know, the nativ languages are on the rise again at Eurovision and many entries with native languages are doing well but I really don't see it happening with german.

The more or less only occasion I'd love to see German language for at Eurovision is with Bilderbuch but this will not happen in 1000 years I guess. It would be such a nice, different try for us, they could deliver a great song and we could do a very unique staging! It would be a risky choice but it could really pay off with the right song, maybe mixed in German and English.

I thought we just learned that any genre could do well, when it‘s authentic and convincing. She‘s a great personality and has charisma. With the right song she could do well.
