I think that is a great idea by ORF for artists to market their songs. Happy for Iceland and Georgia

BTW The home office of many journalists seems to tempt them to funny formulations. A journalist wrote the following on the cancellation of the ESC: "but nothing more than “vision” remained from Eurovision."

Well, it just shows that look and face is not important to spar. Good for him, he will be on all Austrian TV channels and he:lol: will be on esc. If that doesn't help him grow his followers from 5k to 6k I don't know what can.

I believe that vb has the least amount of followers of all 2020 hypothetical participants. If im wrong, feel free to correct me.

Maybe ORF should hire Zoe for their internal process. Her votes proofed taste and more importantly an understanding for what works at modern Eurovision.
Too late. Orf has decided that they will stick with vb. I guess they don't read social media or the esc general opinion and the critics for that song.

Simone and Petra are schlager singers. For them probably, all the pop music is just noise.

Does someone know Tom Neuwirth personally? I would like to ask him to present the Austrian jury vote.

If only ppl would learn that not everything someone says on the Internet is truth. People can say whatever they want under anonymity. Also there are many people in ESC fandom who don't like vb. It's a fact, general consensus. Maybe that guy or girl felt bad because of prev experiences and because he or she saw that vb is not mentally strong.

Eric Papilaya was also out of touch. He has the worst result ever with 27th of 28 in the semifinal and pushed weaker entries. Maybe out of sympathy.

It is easier to count great entries aut has sent and in my opinion only Conchita and cesar were great. Everything else was forgettable. These 2 can't erase the fact that in my book Austria is one of the least favourite Eurovision countries for now.

And how would you describe this:

Alf Poier describes Vincent Bueno's song perfectly with one word: Mitläufertum or as you translated it: idoltry.

Yesterday I was going to write about a rant about Vincent and his continued nomination for 2021, becaue he embodies perfectly this kind of idoltry. He doesn't show us his charisma, uniqueness, nerve, only his singing talent, but appeasing to Western music that is not in anymore. If Alive comes on the radio for the first time, no one would reckon that this is the new hit from Vincent Bueno but a boring B-side of Bruno Mars or Justin Timberlake. But that is cultural thing with many Filipinos that I know, because I used to work with them quite closely personally. They are appeasers and pleasers. They copy you to flatter you. They don't show you who they are, but who they think you want them to be. Philippines were under a lot of influence from the West, especially the Spanish, and got culturally "enriched" by the West unlike any other Asian country. We know and enjoy the sound of India, China or Japan. We have no clue what the Philippines sound like. So, if ORF allows Vincent Bueno to wave the flag in 2021 again, they must stop him from writing his own song. Because he will not serve uniqueness only culturally appropriated but soulless stuff. They should have songwriters for him, so he can show off his voice and dance skills. Or find someone else for 2021.

Alf Poier probably is right. Vincent for sure is very talented in many fields. He is weak in finding the music style that fits to his personality. He needs a producer who finds the style for him. However he will do fine in the future with a mixture of musical, theatre and Comedy i guess. And he just really is a very good person.

But in general i would not give too much on Alf Poiers opinion. He proved too often that he is a quite frustrated person.

Frustrated persons are often right about many things, because they think about things more and don't sweep inconventient truths under the rug.

They may be right about bad things but tend to overlook the good things. They see all the problems but no solutions. So no objectivity.

Sure, but I wouldn't discredit an opinion for coming from a "frustrated person". You gotta have faith. Facts in fact can make you believe in one big lie, namely that life is hopeless.
