Alive would be the perfect post-pandemic anthem and probably win by a landslide next year.

If you consider the 2020 shortlist for Austrias Entry it looks like they have a really hard time to find good Artists who are willing to compete at Eurovision.
Because few want to bring themselves into this toxic environment, which is said to stand for cohesion and inclusion. If I consider what hostilities Pænda was exposed to last year and the many derogatory comments in this thread alone this season, then every artist who reads this will think twice about starting for the ESC.

I would recommend to all of you the approach of Connor Terry:
We here at ESCUnited stand by and support all of the artists from the 2020 class as they have to abandon months worth of work. Make sure to send love their way, purchase or stream their music, and support them in the upcoming months.

But you always have to look on positive side of it. You've got great hits of Conchita and Cesar and they got amazing result for Austria. They deserved to win (Conchita) and 3rd (Cesar). Do you think they read ESC forums?

Artists expose themselves deliberately. If you are discouraged by posts on the internet, it's the wrong profession for you. That of course does not mean, that the posts in question are justified, but I think especially PAENDA last year showed extremely well how to handle those voices - ignore them and do your thing.

Eurovision went toxic with Social Media and 24/7 coverage 365 days. I wouldn't want to participate neither and constantly scrutinized and pissed at by haters.

Paenda herself should too much nerves on stage, so it ultimately got the best of her.

This is excellent point. Even I couldn't have said it any better. There will always be people who love them and who dislike them. Even artists without any controversies aren't loved by everyone. They are famous ppl, they should learn already how to deal with everything regarding their profession including.

But the topic was the shortlist and why there are no other names. Yes, the artists expose themselves to the public, but deliberately not to the public of the ESC. I don't wonder why.

After this interview I'm even more convinced that we should send someone different next year. Someone who is "relieved" that Eurovision was cancelled and "just a tiny little bit disappointed". That's not the spirit we need for this event next year.

For me it is difficult to predict what ORF is going to do. We know that Vincent Bueno was on top of Eberhard Forchers wishlist, But we dont know if Eberhard still will be the Austrian scout. Somehow i cant imagine that they will not stick to Vincent. Maybe they will change the song. But since Vincent will play in a big musical not sure if he will be available next year.

I am awfully disgusted by your posts. i mean Eurovision is important to all of us, but the health and the lifes of all people in europe i guess is more important. your view is just very selfish. shame on you.

He was relieved because he can now fully concentrate on his family and his elderly parents. His mother is a nurse.

I do not know how much you are informed, but at the AKH some of the staff have already been infected or are in quarantine.

I'm pretty sure ORF will stick to him. I mean, he calls Kathrin Zechner "Kathi", she calls him "Vince". They both know each other for more than 12 years.

I'm sorry you misunderstood me. Also @Lindon sorry if my post upset you. That was not intended.

I'm sitting here in the Tyrol at the moment and am not allowed to go outside the house for other things than buy food or medicine. So - don't tell me about health or life issues as if I wasn't affected. Of course I care about that - I'm in the very centre of it. You might have read it, the Robert Koch Institut declared the Tyrol as one of the 5 critical regions in Europe.
I was the one who said in the Latvia-thread weeks ago that making fun of the pandemic was in my eyes tasteless. So don't insinuate that I wouldn't care. You can read my post there if you wish.

Nonetheless I wanted to express how I perceived Vincent's statement that just fit in the impression he gave me over the past weeks - that he's not really into it. I'm not gonna bore you with analyzing in detail why he gave me this impression - unless you really want to get into that. And maybe I'm totally wrong about that but the wording he chose was just - I don't know - not authentic. It sounds a bit like a reception speech learned by heart. At the same time the way he chose his wording came across as "thank good I don't have to do this any longer now that the song is promoted". That was my impression, that's all I wanted to say. Again sorry if that came across the wrong way.

It will probably be Vincent for 2021. If it is so, I hope he will sing something similar to alive. Something that is approx same quality as alive.
