He didn't have the same impact on me than he seems to have on you. He's certainly very talented and I always appreciate artists who perform their own songs. But speaking of Eurovision, I don't think he would really make a big impact. The examples you posted are somewhat intimate and I fear he would get lost on the big stage with material like this. Of course he could do a different song, but do we want artists to change their style and work just to fit in ESC?

He has a good voice, but his song writing is quite poor: sequences of "been there" sound spatterns that go nowhere but are quite irritating. (Paenda had one great song and that was "Limits").
Give me a computer and I'd produce something similarly annoying and belt out some shrieking notes with disposed of lyrics (keep me coming, keep me going).

imo lou asril is a great artist. i guess he originally is a jazz singer and composer. the lyrics are great too. i dont think he needs esc to get the attention he deserves but of course he would stand out with doing something unforeseen.

i think that Lou would be too risky again after Paenda last year, Eberhard Forcher will choose a safer entry this year. I love ORF to go for risky entries though. Now that november is near i suppose there will only be two or three potential entries left. I am curious if we will have to wait until january again or if orf will decide in december like in 2017 and 18.

I heard that ÖRF knew that it was a risky move to pick Limits out and that it could possibly not pay off. Song-wise, this was anything but a trainwreck. However, the way Paenda performed it was... well, was not enough to sail through the grand final.
Her vocals weren't on point, the staging was meh.
