Re: AUSTRIA 2012

Well to be honest, none of the songs does really make an impact on me..though just for the tabloids and see how people would react it would be fun if Austria went with Conchita Wurst..at least in the arena in Baku. :p The song though is quite dull and I don't think Austria will not even be near a equal success as last year. :/

Edit: Wanna add that we gotta add in the older voters, and I think they would rather go with Conchita than Trackshittaz...but we'll see. :)

Why would older people vote for a drag in a beard?? I beg to differ, many older people vote for what they assume (not always correctly though) they think is "in" with the younger generation, and many older watch this together with kids and grandkids and vote for the same stuff, so in that sense I think Trackshittaz could be voted by the older public aswell.

Conchita is too much of a turn off, as a song it might attract middle age queens with no taste, but I don't see "older" people voting for him when they actually see it.

Re: AUSTRIA 2012

yeah okay, that is true, but I was thinking that the song is more traditional Eurovision-schlagerpop than most songs which I think may make older people like it, but I guess you are true in this matter. :p

Well, to a certain extent I might agree with you that they might prefer the style, but when they see Conchita they'll be turned off anyways

But why being remembered for having a failed drag in beard while you can have a good song? It's just sad, the song is über cheese, atleast Jedward had a current pop song that eventually became a hit in some markets, while Conchita will just be remembered as "the freak of ESC 2012 edition".

Re: AUSTRIA 2012

I don't understand how Austria has done to have one of the best national final last year and one of the worst this year. Why didn't they keep the system of last year. It's very sad for this country, I guess they will withdraw next year because of the bad results in 2012.

hopefully not.

i also liked the system of last year more because every artist had the chance to send a song.
but i also think it was very expensive and took much time because it lasted many weeks. so i think it was easier to ask 10 artists to take part in the NF.

i'm rooting for Krautschädl. (some others would be also good for Baku). i personally don't want to see Conchita for Austria.

!DelaDap "Crazy Swing" to be disqualified!

For being performed two weeks prior to September 1 > here

sources:
http://www.heute.at/freizeit/musik/art31330,653474
http://orf.at/stories/2102212/

It says !DelaDap may be open to come up with a replacement entry. That or their spot is given to another artist. Or the lineup is to be reduced to 9 altogether.

that would be very sad for Deladap. i hope the are allowed to enter an different song.

i wonder that the official page is still the same. http://oe3.orf.at/songcontest/stories/songs/
