Re: AUSTRIA 2012

ya a fun Rock Song like 'Paris; Paris' by 'Klimmstein' in this Years NF would be great =)

'Krautschädl' would be also a great choice: (they already did the Instrumental-Playback for Poli Genova, Bulgaria 2011)
I fully agree, Klimmstein was basically what I meant with "fun rock", it's too bad they didn't make it in the NF this year, because I'm quite sure Austria might have performed better points-wise. Maybe they might not have been as successful with the juries as Nadine, but I'm certain they would've done better with the televotes.
Krautschädl are nice too, and although I think the song you posted, "Khoids Wossa", is, at least for me, a bit too melancholic for something like the ESC, I would well give them a chance.

the music sounds great linked to a clip like this. but if the stage performance is bad, I don't think it would pass the semi-final.

Re: AUSTRIA 2012

Austrian national broadcaster announced during the presentation of the new season program that they will take part in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan following the successful recipe of the national selection method they used in 2011.

Along with radio station Ö3 they will ask the listeners to choose the finalists not mentioning if a jury will be in the selection method or not. The national final will take place in February though no exact date was given.

After their success in Düsseldorf, I kinda expected this. But welcome again, Austria :-)

Success? But I agree, I think that format is the best. If just the level of the songs were a bit higher. It could have been worse this year though.

ok... maybe, success was the false word, but after returning, they passed the semis and reached the 18th place in the final, which was their best result since Alf Poier in 2003.

Considering the song I'd say it was a big SMASH!

Anyways, hope for something little more inspiring from Austria this year and not just 3 minutes of vocal training.

C'mon Austria.. I want to go to Vienna finally!

Re: AUSTRIA 2012

Austrian public broadcaster ORF has announced that the country will hold its national final for Eurovision 2012 in February, without specifying the exact date yet. According to ORF, the Austrian representative in Baku will be decided "during a live show with audience voting".
As already announced over a month ago, Austria will stick to their 2011 selection formula, which consists of a single selection show preceded by a qualifying round held through radiostation Hitradio Ö3. Listeners will be able to nominate whatever artist or group they wish to go through the final, to take place in February.

Austria is going again for this selection method as ORF is satisfied with the results they achieved in Eurovision 2011.
