I wanna be close to my mother
I wanna belong to the world
A mirror that shows technicolor
I'd be a magnificent girl

But everything is frustrating
Everything moves along
Faster than I can relate to

But I got power, yeah
Midnight is the hour, yeah
Time to take off your cloaks

Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we stand together
We can do whatever
Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we care for one another
We can

I wanna know that there's a future
That I can move myself towards
And yet I promise you
Yes all you nasty dudes
I don't need certainty
To get my pot of gold

Everything is frustrating
Everything moves along
Faster than I can relate to

But we got grace, yeah
We got style and lasers, yeah
Time to take off your cloaks

Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we stand together
We can do whatever
Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we care for one another
We can

Shine
Shine
Shine
Shine

Techni-technicolour

If we stand together
We can do whatever
Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we care for one another
We can

I really like it! It's giving me Marina & The Diamonds vibes. But I think it's a hard song to pull live!

Personally it's waaaaaay better than "Don't break me" .

The song is out on Spotify too.

I am giving this another big fat :5:. The synths are so 90s. But I really feel the verses, pre-chorus and chorus don't flow well at all. The chorus is catchy but the pre-chorus sounds a little juvenile for me. I don't know why but I get the "I Don't Feel Hate" vibes listening to "Technicolour" and that is not a good sign. "Don't Break Me" is so much better to be honest.

And I do worry, there are like quite a few vocal runs there, I fear she will struggle.

The high pitches are not false, but they sound incredibly annoying this time. Where in "don't break me" they matched somehow the message of the song, here they rather let me think - is she really the good vocalist I thought her to be.... :5: for now, but I need a few more listenings.

In the swimming pool, always stayin' cool
Uh, this song is a lot to take.
Seems to be 5 songs in just one, but actually i quite like it. It's like... messy in good way, i'll say ? Also the song is quite unpredictable, "out-of-the-box" while being poppy as hell, i love the addition of 8-bit beats, and it continues on surprising in only 3 minutes and i REALLY like that fact.

That being said, it seems difficult to pull it live and maybe i somewhat think it could sound a bit perturbating for the average audience...
But for me it's a big YES ! Really like this more than Don't Break Me. Montaigne, take my :8: points !

My ears are bleeding but i love it. I agree that the instrumentation feels really abrasive and piercing, probably too much. But I’m so excited to see my country actually send a song like this. Super keen for her Mardi Gras performance!! 7 points.

I liked "Don't Break Me" more but I also really like the new entry. It's really catchy, I could sing a long very quickly and that will be great for eurovision. I'ts a :10:
Hope it will make it to the final.

Literally had a heart attack after seeing Montaigne's new look and I haven't even heard the song yet. It's gonna be like a warm wet fart in July, I bet.

Edit: Well. This is original. I like it much more than Don't Break Me. Very unique sounding. I think I like.

WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK IS THAT?!

Not gonna lie, I was expecting "Don't Beige Me" part 2 and girl comes back with Technicolour. Just when I thought "Zero Gravity" would be the first and last Australian entry I would enjoy, I am very pleasantly surprised.

Yes, it does sound rather messy overall, the chorus does not hit hard, and the key change (like in Set Me Free) was completely unnecessary, but I dig the lively video game instrumentation, the crazy pre-chorus, the work on the vocal flourishes, the ad-libs... I feel like it's an entry that will be a grower for many people. It indeed is reminiscent of Marina & The Diamonds at times.

It also has potential for great staging, so I hope they won't come up with a concept that's completely off like last year.

With that being said, @Loindici is Montaigne generally good live? "Don't Break Me" was much easier to sing last year and she never really gave a convinving vocal performance of it imo. With the amount of modulations, belts and high notes packed in "Technicolour", I am worried her head might explode.

The song is a welcome breath of fresh air though, not only for Australia but also for the first semi that now features its fair share of safe entries. :10: points from me.

At least, Australia's taking a risk and it could pay off immensely if done well. How well Montaigne can deliver live, we'll see tomorrow when she's performing it. I've been humming the chorus today as it's very memorable and easy to remember, which could bode well. I really wonder how juries will rate this one
