I´m sorry but I hated "We Got Love" from the beginning. Until now the only entry I really loved was "Tonight Again", "Sound of Silence" was kinda ok but terribly overrated by the juries, all the other songs were not my cup of tea at all. :(

oh at least we share the same opinion about sound of silence xheat

'Zero Gravity' was somewhere around the 10th place on my list before ESC, but after her performance she easily became my favorite and I rooted so much for her during grand final. It was a great show she made and it was truly a full package. I hope future contestants (not just from Australia) will start thinking outside of box like her and will deliver some nice experiments, both performance- and song-wise.

"Zero Gravity" as a package became an ultimate classic the day the staging was presented to the world imo. It will definitely remain a remembered performance for both the vocal and visual performance served by the Australians. The previously unseen presentation clearly justified the rise in the odds to me, even though we should have remembered that sadly all operatic acts have a glass ceiling above their head, as amazing as they can be. I hope someone will succeed in breaking through it in the future.

With that being said, no one took a moment to note the fact that, thanks to Kate, for the first time ever since their debut Australians were ranked higher with televoters than with juries somewhere (in semi 1). :) Hopefully, they can see it as an incentive to take the interesting road again and leave their bland habits home.

Semi final performance was stronger visually (some parts near the climax + the climax), I think Kate could’ve done slightly better with some countries in the final if the visuals were perfect and do better with the public as the discrepancy wasn’t that big really

By the way, Montaigne's album 'Complex' is great, with a lot of musical-sounding songs.

I predicted a flop for "Zero Gravity" in real contest, because it was my # 1 in Eurovision 2019.

At least it's not DNQ result, like many my # 1s had before.

All my # 1 songs since semifinal(s) system was inducted in 2004 :
2004 : Julia Savicheva - Believe Me (Russia)
2005 : Vanilla Ninja - Cool Vibes (Switzerland)
2006 : Silvia Night - Congratulations (Iceland)
2007 : Scooch - Flying The Flag (For You) (United Kingdom)
2008 : Gisela - Casanova (Andorra)
2009 : Susanne Georgi - La Teva Decisio (Get A Life) (Andorra)
2010 : Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life (Sweden)
2011 : Twiins - I'm Still Alive (Slovakia)
2012 : Anmary - Beautiful Song (Latvia)

2013 : Krista Siegfrids - Marry Me (Finland)
2014 : Sanna Nielsen - Undo (Sweden)
2015 : Monika Linkyte and Vaidas Baumila - This Time (Lithuania)
2016 : ManuElla - Blue and Red (Slovenia)
2017 : Jana Burcheska - Dance Alone (Macedonia)
2018 : Humans - Goodbye (Romania)

2019 : Kate Miller-Heidke - Zero Gravity (Australia)

Why are all your faves female tho? Just a coincidence, or you expect not to be a flopfan even tho you cancel half of the performers who express their gender as a male.

On a side note, #CelebrateDiversity

My initial thoughts from listening to one or two songs by each artist:

Casey Donovan

Her voice has a bit of a theatricalness to it. Hard to really have too much of an opinion from what I've heard. I feel a bit indifferent right now but she could surprise.

Didirri

Went through a few of this guys songs as I was feeling again quite indifferent, which I thought was perhaps a tad unfair as I certainly appreciate Australia thinking outside the box with this NF, and Didirri is a prospect I should be welcoming. His song Jude is pleasant. Unsure if outside of the contest though I'd feel eager to delve into his stuff based on the little I've heard.

IOTA

Ooooooo now this has me interested. Really interested. Their song Blush is very up my alley and got better as it went on. My Enemy is even better! I wasn't expecting an alternative rock band in this selection. The singers vocals are fantastic as well. Giving me Distillers vibes.

For goodness sake, I was listening to the British band, IOTAxdoh I thought they were too good to be true. This iOTA though seems cool too, and much more a likely candidate for Eurovision. And OH MY GOSH he played Frank-N-Furter in the Australian Rocky Horror Picture Show. Ok, bye bye alt rock IOTA. I'll take this guyxheat Everything better be OTT and fabulous.

Mitch Tambo Australia's Jon Henrik Fjällgren equivalent. TBH I'd accept anything that would mean we're not going back to the Australia we endured prior to 2019. People would probably very much enjoy some corny pop with some didgeridoos, and maybe I would too if it was done right. Perhaps a sizeable IF though.

Montaigne

Listened to For Your Love and started getting into it pretty much immediately once it decided to get its groove on. I'm a Fantastic Wreck I liked a lot less, and it actually irritated me. But regardless, she seems a promising artist to bag.

Vanessa Amorosi

Very good voice. Potentially could be killer with the right stuff. Not particularly feeling the material of hers I've listened to though. Feels a tad uninspired. Heavy Lies The Head I don't mind but something in that style would probably suffer the same fate as Switzerland 2018.

I feel like Australia are really listening to fans, and I love that. So far it's a varied bunch of artists they've bagged. Looking forward to finding out who the remaining ones are. Australia have such amazing alternative rock bands, especially of the psychedelic kind, so maybe they'd like to please old me and plonk one into this darling little selection.

First Aussie NATIONAL final song:

I'm sick and tired of having to face such entries in Eurovision, tbh. It's another Bill's "Roi" but just in a very bland and generic version.
Statements and a political or personal agenda should never be the main concept of a Eurovison entry. 2019 proved that it's not enough (France, Germany).
The song itself should be the most important thing.
Also, the tone of this singer ist just flat and boring to me.
Personally, I dislike mediocrity more than something progressive or trashy (but well-thought).

Jaguar Jonze is who I'm hyped most about!! She has by far the most interesting image and persona, and she's often played on Australia's Triple J radio station (primarily indie/underground music, and the only radio station which I listen to daily). She really intrigues me.

Diana Rouvas has a good voice too, although I don't really know what type of music she makes. Jack Vidgen is well-known but not necessarily adored in Australia, he doesn't really have a massive dedicated fanbase as far as I know (which is probably good coz the song is meh).

I'mma say it right now to save some time: Jack Vidgen and his "I am king I am queen" are a clear no for me. In my book, this "package" is everything Australians should get away from given their past entries. One Isaiah per century is about right imo, so please pick someone else. Thanx

It will be very hard for :au: to avoid bottom 10 result in my ranking with this line-up.
