Coming into our city-state, dear wanderer, you will not see the public display of wealth, luxury, and decadence so common in other countries. This we admit, our people have not been blessed with money. But Artyomka is not a country for those who seek wealth. It is not a country for those who long for things such as a functioning infrastructure, a government free of corruption, a stable market economy, or a young demographic. Do you want to have fun and live an easy life? Go on. You will not find what you’re looking for here. You have to forgive us, for only recently has our nation opened up to the rest of Natia and freed itself from the ruinous doings of the planned economy which has ruled here for decades. Its aftermath will remind you of our past everywhere. You won’t escape it. But as we said, Artyomka is the wrong place for you if you want to have shallow fun.
If you are on the lookout for other things though, you are welcome here, dear traveller. While our circumstances have never allowed for permanence of material wealth, a talk with an Artyom citizen will surely open up your mind towards the spiritual richness abundant here – for it has always been the only thing our nation could rely on.
