She's less great when she issues statements like the one about gay... :? I hope she doesn't really think what she declared... :(

I have admired her as athlete for many years. It's hard to separate that when you hear the things she has said. There was obviously an element of playing to the crowd and trying to be the home town hero, but surely she knows that this will affect her reputation worldwide and no doubt sponsorships will be in jeopardy. Whatever happens from this moment, she brought on herself.

So the championships are over today and, when I underline all what happened in the last eight days, I can say I am pretty satisfied with what I saw. I was amazed by Usain Bolt, I think he could easily become the best athlete of all the times and it is great there is such a talent nowadays! Elena Isinbayeva was a special story, too bad she is finishing her career.....
It was also very successful for our athletics, because this was the 4th consecutive championship where we concuered the medal (2007 and 2009 Blanka Vlašić - high jump gold, 2011 Blanka Vlašić, high jump silver and finally 2013 Sandra Perković - discus throw gold)! We are among 38 countries out of 206, who reached the medal and ranked 12 th. Well done! I am happy.

This is the medaltable:
