Well, let's wait and see when Turkey and the ex-YU countries return and how that affects the televote.

We have to keep in mind that a lot of diaspora voters were muted by the absence of their home countries.

True, and as much as I hate blind nationalist diaspora voting, I think it's far worse with supposed musical "professionals" that are completely narrow-minded and use their powers to punish certain countries and genres, rather than truly judging the music and respecting the contest for what it is.

Well, of course I hate the fact the Eastern European juries tried to sink Conchita, and the Azeri jury even tried to sink every favourite in the competition.

But on the other hand, the Balkans and Turkey will return one day, and these countries were in the centre of the political voting mess.

Ex-Soviet countries are still sticking together, and it's not because of the music, when they are voting for Swedish formular ballads.

On the other hand, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia were great and should've got more points fro the West.

Austria's votes were truly fair: 12 points to Armenia in the final, 10 points to Belarus in the semifinal. If the Balkans were in the final, all their points would have been attributed to Serbia, Bosnia, Turkey, Croatia, Albania because of the diaspora.

I don't talk about Conchita, but yes... it was the same way western juries on PURPOSE sinked Poland... that was so blatantly it's not even funny.

Well if you ask me Poland was a terrible songs who got 160 points for boobs.
I see no wrong in any juries not putting Poland in their top 15.

On the other hand, I m shocked at the idea of any professional jury not having songs like Sweden, the Netherlands, Hungary, Montenegro, Austria in the top 15.

I feel like they sinked some ******** and not a specific country. I m pretty sure that should it have been from Moldova, Norway or Serbia, it would be as badly ranked by juries

That's your opinion, I don't agree at all... and we got plenty of boobs (Ireland, Spain comes to mind... and those weren't even meant to be ironic).

It was blatantly that juries sanked Poland because of other reasons that musical ones...

And how come a proffesional jury should have wailing dated English ballads in their top? Is that all Eurovision is about...? How "Hungarian" is the Hungarian entry? What attachment to Austria has the Austrian one? xshrug

Well if Poland got points for boobs, Austria got 100% points for beard

Yeh, like some people above I'd hate to have 100% televote back! ESPECIALLY if the Balkan countries came back in force as they were the worst for vote swapping.

Maybe not enough people watch and vote? It's confusing actually because its not like they have the population of San Marino.

It hasn't been the first time that Albania relied on jury votes only - indeed, they're not a small country like San Marino so it's kinda strange.

Maybe the telephone connections are not good - maybe why they don't have a televote in their NF.

how can you say that if Austria received points from 32 countries / 36?
Only Poland, San Marino, Belarus and Armenia didn't gave points to Austria.
If they really wanted to descend Austria they could have done that, because the juries have a much power now (they can even annihilate the public vote very easy), but they didn't, Austria received points from most countries.

I think it's silly that people blame "political voting" on the fact that some countries didn't jump on the whole LGBT convention bandwagon and gave Conchita points he didn't deserve just because he is a drag in beard. Some actually voted for songs aswell not just hype and political ideas xshrug

They turned Eurovision into X-Factor!!!! xfaint

The "sob story" they kept shoving in our faces and apparently it seems people fell for it xfacepalm

For all we know people might have voted for Austria cause they thought it was a great joke act not cause it symbolized equality like they kept telling us xshrug

@ gabi

In Poland, Belarus and Armenia, Conchita was in the televoting Top 4, but the conservative juries levelled the scores out. In Azerbaijan Conchita came 2nd in the televote, and 24th in the juries, one point in the combined vote remained. Also the other favourites like Sweden and Holland were at the bottom of the Azeri jury vote.

This cannot be said for San Marino, because there was no televoting, and San Marino has quite a record of not voting for the winner.

It’s normal the juries didn’t give much to Austria, because the song was not great and most of the juries see Eurovision as a songwriting contest.

I still think the easy way is televote only with 5 votes max for one phone.

Like it was before 2004.

Sure Latvia and Estonia were dreadful winners, but they got points, like France, Greece, Denmark, Malta, from every country in 2001 and 2002. And the 2003 voting was pretty fair too if you ask me.

Why don't Albania and other countries use televoting too? Can someone kindly explain to me?

I think they have threshold of certain number of votes
to be count as valid votes

and I read somewhere, Albania's total votes last year less than 500 votes
that's why they used 100 % Jury votes

The high score for Romania prove how little they care about this.
