To have my entry disqualified is a real shock to me. When I sent my entry, the administration had 8 days to check it. I want to be clear right off the bat, because I don't sit on Discord and because the fact that I am constantly demonized as a propaganda broadcaster is terribly frustrating and upsetting. This is the first time I've seen that the reason for disqualification can be based on the wording “artist activity”, more specifically “this artist could have been there but with a different song, but his activity also violates the policy and therefore we can't accept him”. It's a two-way stick. I have never heard of the fact that now in order to participate in the competition one has to analyze the personal views and life of the artist being sent. I, as a resident of this country, was well aware of who my artist was originally, but this is a music contest, the song I chose is a song of the Christian pop-rock genre, where there is no hint of propaganda in the lyrics, and the video is quite innocent of the field and the concert hall. I thought the participation of such an artist was acceptable because the overwhelming majority of artists in modern Russia are in one way or another connected with the activities of the state, which, I emphasize, are not related to their music. And for which there are no checks during the confirmation period.
Unfortunately I don't know who could be affected by this song, provided that every month there are entries singing about non-existent countries or glorifying nations (take at least 90% of the songs of Armenia, they are always about the greatness of Armenia), but I considered POSSIBLE the participation of an entry with a catchy melody and in a foreign language, where in the lyrics of the song there are no references to the war and which, moreover, is performed in a foreign language. If my decision to participate with such a song offended you, I sincerely apologize for my decision. It was dictated solely by the competitive entry and the catchy sound.
My song was eligible and was withdrawn the day before the end of voting. I was betting big on Miravi, and therefore I ask you to listen to it and not let it get lost. Thank you.
And will the second semi get the same extension?
