Re: Halito's topic: Beware the Yule Cat

NSC 104

As you may have noticed, Halito changed entry last-minute. Marceline will still be performing next edition; this change was merely because of the delays, which made this edition into the Christmas edition, rather than NSC 105.

Halito's new entry is based on the Icelandic myth of the Yule Cat - a cat the size of a house that comes at Christmas time and eats the children of families that don't have any new clothes (so be grateful for that pair of socks you got from your uncle).

Re: Halito has a new gender

Breaking News

In addition to the currently existing feminine, masculine and neuter genders in the Halitosian language, a fourth gender has today been officially recognised: the anthropomorphic gender.

It has long been contested by the resident robots of Halito that they have a right to a gender of their own, since they are clearly neither masculine nor feminine, and are certainly not "neuter", a title which they have reluctantly shared with tables, windows and other inanimate objects. However it is only now that robots have been given a voice, with a recent political movement to abolish the so-called "enslavement" of artificial lifeforms. Organisations such as PETA have finally given up on animal rights as a lost cause, and have moved on to robot rights, likening the servitude of robots to the slave trade that thrived in Halito centuries ago. PETA has issued the following statement following the news of the new gender:

"This day is one to celebrate, for it shows that the world is not such a dark place as many of us have feared. Robots, beings of intelligence that far surpasses that of humans, are clearly therefore capable of experiencing suffering on a scale that we cannot imagine ourselves. That robots are the creations of humans only serves to worsen the prejudices against them; people believe that they can play God, without realising the atrocity of this mindset. But the future is bright - perhaps one day we will be fortunate enough to be ruled over by these superior beings."

Will artificial lifeforms ever experience true freedom? Only time will tell.

Re: Halito's Topic: Yeah, this.

It's pretty hard to understand what the hell he's saying, so here are the lyrics:

We left our sweethearts
And our wives along that pier
"Cheer up", they said
"You'll soon return in half a year"

So we sailed up north to breach the ice
And took full sail
Each boat was manned with guns
And rope to hunt that whale

We know, that we're fighting
In this frost on our own
And we'll see no sound
Or sight of our homes

And our lovers will be
Waiting there till spring
It's a ramble and a race to be king
Race to be king

Now we've been sailing a league or three
Till we glimpsed that shore
The night was dark, it won no hearts
So we stayed on board

There fired a shot along our deck
And down one side
And it cracked our mast and swept in fast
Our bird she cried out

We know, that we're fighting
In this frost on our own
And we'll see no sound
Or sight of our homes

And our lovers will be
Waiting there till spring
It's a ramble and a race to be king
Race to be king

[Repeat chorus]

Re: Halito's Topic: Accidently PQ

NSC 107

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdJYrkra0nk

Here's a door and here's a window
Here's a ceiling here's a floor
The room is lit like a black and white movie
The TV's on that's what it's for

And if you walk real slowly
You can hear the planet breathe
There's no need to feel so lonely
Now that we've all learned to give

Accidently Kelly Street
Where friends and strangers sometimes meet
Accidently Kelly Street
I never thought life could be so sweet

In the garden birds are singing
The sun is shining on the path
The wind is talking to the flowers
And dogs and cats all take a bath

And if you stop that talking
You could hear the traffic sigh
Throw away those keys start walking
And watch those tiny things go by

Accidently Kelly Street
Where friends and strangers sometimes meet
Accidently Kelly Street
I never thought life could be so sweet

It's Sunday everyday
There's no need to rush around
Inside of everybody
There's sudden laughter to be found

It seems that we're on holiday
And sleeping in is not a sin
All the house work done by tea time
And feeling good about the way I've been

Perhaps this optimism will crash on down
Like a house of cards
I know that my decisions changed my life
It's not that hard

Accidently Kelly Street
Where friends and strangers sometimes meet
Accidently Kelly Street
I never thought life could be so sweet

Re: Presenting... A Game of NSC (a.k.a. The Halito Rap)

NSC 109

Okay, enough messing around. Halito is celebrating its 100th edition, and although we will be sending Dan Berlyne once again (who?), there's more to it than just fingers...

I present to you "A Song of Cools and Fires: A Game of NSC", a rap about Halito and NSC. I apologise in advance for any cringing that may occur upon watching this video.

And in addition to that, you get another video, you lucky boys and girls! Here I rap the 60 nations, PokeRap style. I run out of steam near the end, sorry about that. It's harder than it looks, trust me :p
