living for this host city announcement
Hosting the Congratulations show for the first time saw many different bidding offers from many cities across Solentoya, more than for the usual. A total of 10 different offers were made from 7 different cities, all of them ranging in size and venue. The smallest came from Adriana wih the Olimpica at a total of 8,000, while the largest from San Luciana and the Metropolitano Luciana Stadium home to the national football team and a total capacity of 68,000. Layasol in particular was offering an open air event with a capacity of up to 11,000.
Initially it seemed the Coca Cola Arena in Alasanti would be the successful bid, previously the hosting site for WLSC 205. However, schedule clashes ruled it out of contention despite its popularity. Cohen group, the signed stage designers being tasked with creating the stage concept (soon to be announced) pushed for the Metropolitano as the best hosting venue however with its size and location the costs involved would be astronomical making it not a viable choice. The successful bid did come from the capital city, SanLuciana, however from the much smaller Caja Magica. With a size of 16,000 (slightly less with the stage and greenroom included), it's location to the main metro express line and close location to the front promenade it was decided to be the perfect venue, with a fanzone being constructed nearby on the promenade itself. Caja Magica itself works primarily as a music venue hosting many global singers on a regular basis, but also a venue for some selected programming produced by the multiple tv channels based in Solentoya.
The host, San Luciana is in need of no introduction, it is the cultural and historic hub of Solentoya. It is no stranger to hosting big global music events having twice hosted the Waiting List Song Contest and once hosted the major musical event, Nation Song Contest. The city itself home to nearly 7,000,000 people with sprawling suburbs and exurbs up to the border increasing that further and making it one of the largest cities regionally to Natia. Sprawling beaches, bistros, hotels, clubs and other music venues line the long coastline and that on itself has it's own sense of being and culture, with it's modern architecture and diverse nature. With that, is the core city centre and it's protected status that limits modern construction to certain parts of the city. San Luciana is open to anyone wishing to enjoy history and soak in the atmosphere uninterrupted while also taking advantage of the cities extensive metro system - as do millions of tourists annually. Renouned for it's decedance and famous historic buildings no matter your persuasion, you'll surely enjoy your stay with us here in San Luciana, Solentoya.
