I have ancestors from Kirgizstan and Lebanon... countries that haven't debuted in ESC semis/final and don't belong geographically to Europe, both are mainly Muslim.
So I'm wondering if someone is so snobby to the point where he doesn't want to see me :twisted:
Europe is for Europeans only? By blood and faith and geography, by politics (which is heavily based on religion and finances)? I see no other reason if EBU rules don't seem fair enough for people.

Im sick of people's double standard of accepting Israel, and Cyprus who are physically completley in Asia but not wanted Morocco in.

And any cultural waffle is ridiculous, Morrocco has ZERO in common with sub saharan Africa, the North African states are more culturally European than African.

Since Morrocco has competed before they should definatly be allowed to compete again and with the current financial crisis I can see other countries withdrawing next year anyway so its not like the contest will have too many entrants.

I have at least my opinion clear and goes with the Euro-qualification in Football to decide what's Europe and not Europe.
If so that Morocco is accepted again in ESC, I will of course be happy to see more old/new countries in ESC, even if I see Morocco more North African/Arabic then European.

I would like to see my other homeland take part in Esc! Still waiting for Italy to complete all of my homelands in Esc, so I'll have to whom to vote!

Of course if they follow the rules, Morocco has the right to enter, but I still don't want to have them in ESC.
It's just an opinion, since I'm not the one who decides who enters and who not

Not racism, not religious discrimination, of course. I'd like Lebanon in ESC as I posted sometimes, so I'm not any anti-arabian or anti-muslims

My personal problem is with Morocco and I admit it. Politics??? Maybe... but I have my reasons. I won't die if Morocco enters ESC, but I wouldn't like it as I don't think they suit at all what "the Eurovision spirit" should be

I don't want Morocco in Eurovision, as a matter of fact I don't want any more non-Europan country in ESC, enough is enough really. I really don't want this contest to become a farse and parody of itself, which it could be if we start to allow more non-European countries and expend it too much...

and also Morocco would be a hot contender of taking over Turkey's role as the main diaspora-vote benefiter in the contest and do we really want more of that?

Sorry, I might be conservative, but for me EUROvision is EUROvision and not something else... and YES I know the rules allow countries like Morocco... but Eurovision would soon become unrecognizable, the whole idea would get lost and it would just become a too big farse.

They could start Arabvision, or Afrovision or something like that instead... so good luck to them if they do... could be interesting maybe... but NOT in Eurovision.

I dont know what would it be like.
I dont want to judge them without seeing their songs or shows , I dont even want to speak about Morocco and Lebanon before seeing how well they can do it.
Like you all said before; Israel,Azerbaijan and Armenia aren't in Europe as well. But AZ and ARM are ex-soviets . That's why - in my opinion - if Russia, Belarus can compete in EUROvision , they can compete too. But Israel , I think there's no good answers for it. That's why, if Israel is in, I guess Morocco can be in too. But it doesn't mean I WANT. I don't want because ESC seems to be going to be a WORLDvision Song Contest. And I actually don't prefer it. I'm happy with it as ESC.

NO! I didn't mean it .You misunderstood me.
I meant, we say Azerbaijan and Armenia are in Assia so why are they in ESC . but they must be in , because they were Soviet, and if an x-soviet country can join ESC - like Russia or sth else, then it means all of them can join. It's my opinion.

OK OK But Armenia or Azerbaijan can compete because these countries are in the European Broadcasting Area like Morocco and Israel. But I think the EBU is expert in not following their own rules and acts arbitrarily.

Since they are EBU members then yes.

Israel would have to withdraw if only European members were allowed.

I can live with Morocco and then Lebanon but that's it for me. Put in any more countries and they will just make a new voting bloc. Sad but true.
