Re: ??????? - Ukraine 2010 - Alyosha - Sweet People
Yesterday the Ukrainian delegation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 presented the promotional video for their entry Sweet People. The cartoon video features Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, Silvio Berlusconi, Hu Jinato, Hillary Clinton and, of course, Alyosha.
The video focuses on the message of the song Sweet People by looking back to the Climate Summit in Copenhagen last December where the leaders of the countries present at the Conference failed to reach an effective agreement and commit to emission reductions.
After the Conference Alyosha's animated character starts singing the song and the Earth's environmental problems are depicted. The cartoon emphasizes that people are capable of not only talking about these problems but also acting and solving them although too many times being prevented to do so by the failure of the international negotiations by the world's leaders. “This cartoon is my appeal to the conscience of the global policy makers – the presidents and the prime ministers – to make good on their promises and responsibilities before us and our children,” Alyosha says and calls for people to help and act to starts solving the Earth's environmental problems.
Sweet People cartoon was created by the animation company Mupotoon LLC in partnership with a leading Hollywood producer’s firm Ostrow & Co.
