Undeserved winner... So bad and boring. I dislike everything about it... And no instant appeal. It kinda gets better after a 1000 listenings...

I actually thought the song arrangement was really good and the melody was decent but the singer was bloody awful. Dima aka the goat has an incredibly annoying voice and the stage performance was so dramatic and over the top

"oh look at me, my shirt's open how did that happen? Now look at me and lick my porno goatee". Seriously, i wish we had juries then.

I agree he wasn't the best and didn't deserve to win, but come on, the song was good and he was wonderful on the stage.
IMO he deserved it as he shows he is a very good artist, but the song was just ok and certainly not enough for winning ;)

Well, since I started to watch eurovision in 2009,I have nothing against Dima.Lucian said he knew he will win even before he had the song and that sucks.I read in many articles he got a special attention in Belgrade in 2008..Anyway,my fave Russian entry is still from him,but the 2006 one.
I loved the shirt part, but, well,I'm a girl

Ewww, that is all. I still don't get why this won, other than Dima Bilan already being so damn famous. The song itself isn't that bad, but his delivery.... his voice just breaks on those falsetto notes, it sounds comical and annoying. It seems there's a winner i strongly dislike exactly every 3 years.... 2005 with My Number One, 2011 with Running Scared, hmmm....

Russian superstar Dima Bilan (Russia 2006, 2008) and Azerbaijani Nikki Jamal ( Azerbaijan 2011) have joined forces and recorded a duet Come into my world. The official videoclip of their song has been released.

Just watched the live performance for the first time since probably 2008. What a hot mess, it looks like Dima stole a candle from a restaurant at the start of the song and then you think he's going to drink it, but then he just keeps fluctuating vocally and making awkward glances at the camera, and it's all just a terrible performance really. I wonder did Dima Bilan really win it for Russia that year or was it Evgeni Plushenko that brought the votes in?

One of the worst winners of the past decades, that probably wouldn't even have won if it wasn't due to corruption.

Also Dima has been supportive of Putin and the invasion of Ukraine, there's a special place in hell for him and Polina and Kirkorov and other fascist Russian artists.

Oh no, not another one.
And yes I agree it's one of the worst winners, at least for me, everything came off inauthentic and forced: the performance, the skater and above all the lyrics.

It's funny though, thinking about the current war between Russia and Ukraine... Back in 2008 Ukraine sent Shady Lady whose lyrics now I see under a different light, almost like a speech made by :ua: to :ru:
You've been my superstar
But it's not what you are
You've been my superhero
Since I've lived in your shade
Every step that I made
Brought me nothing but zero
But I'm stayin' alive
Now I'm changin' my life
With a burning desire
No one knows who I am
But I don't give a damn
Gonna set you on fire.
While the lyrics of Believe, well, they sound like an artificial motivational song for Putin himself. Maybe Putin uses this song to increase his motivation to fulfil his deluded fantasies of domination.

Damn, it deeply saddens me to see that this "allegedly" homosexual artist supports a fascist, homophobic regime. I know that he has made questionable comments before but supporting an invasion and a mass murderer is unacceptable and a heinous crime.

I have been thinking about my personal Top 10´s in Eurovision lately and I´m glad that I somehow only ended up stanning for Russian entrants with common sense - Russia only got points from "me" in 2021, 2020, 2016, 2009 and 2003 - all of them condemned the war (apart from t.A.T.u. since I haven´t read anything from them but I heavily doubt that Lena would support it).

And yes, "Believe" is like the worst Eurovision winner I can think of.
