Yeah I've read something like that here. I think he has the potential 100% . Just needs to improve a little bit, but I would love to see him again in the future. Same with HenkaTo be fair, Peculiar tried to compete last year but wasn't among the 6 picked through the free submission option.
Which song do you think will stand in Eurovision with the current lineup?
Our semifinal is completely stacked with pop songs. The only ballad is coming from a male singer, and is pretty chanceless.
So, Josh or Fernando Daniel may fit well there.
Diana Vilarinho would be great as well. However, there are not many female singers, Justyina and Beatrice, are bringing ethnic sounds. They would cancel each other, probably...
That is good!Josh will be wearing white and they've hidden the bottom part of the metal structure. We'll see.
Let's pray... Either Josh or Fernando should be enough to get a good result in Eurovision.I still truly believe that “Tristeza” is the best song and the strongest proposal we have this year. It’s a unique, emotional, and beautifully crafted track with the potential to stand out at Eurovision — and I really hope Portugal makes the right choice tonight.
It’s clear that Josh and his team have worked hard and taken the feedback from the semifinal to heart. There’s been a real effort over these past two weeks to refine the performance, and I genuinely believe tonight’s staging will be much stronger. From what we know, Josh will be wearing white, which should help create a more striking visual contrast and elevate the ethereal feel of the song. The pole he uses on stage is now taller, placing him in a more elevated position, and the base of the pole has been hidden, making the whole staging look cleaner and more polished.
I’m really hopeful that these changes will allow the song’s beauty and emotion to shine through even more. I’ll be rooting for Josh tonight — this is the kind of song that could give Portugal a standout result at Eurovision, and I truly believe it deserves that chance. Let’s hope for the best!
And the camerawork and lights ? Because those are the mains problems. Changing the clothes and hiding the bottom part are just minimal changes (still better than nothing i would say but won't change the core issue of his performance)Josh will be wearing white and they've hidden the bottom part of the metal structure. A friend of mine watched the rehearsal and... The first minute was still a bit "suffered". He is not able to sing it well. Apart from that, the visuals were better. And the camerawork and lights ? Why Fernando? It's not a televote pleaser at all. I can see it NQ. And if it reaches the final it will only do well with the juries. But most of all I just hope Portugal doesn't send Fernando as it's such a soulless song. That's really a step down for Portugal in ESC.Let's pray... I always feel like chucking when I hear Fernando Daniel described as a HUGE name. There is still a possible shot for him.
Televote will make things harder. Napa are being promoted by the Madeira president and Fernando Daniel still takes advantage of his huge name and amount of engaged fans. About the jury, it is still a question mark. It is a personal feeling, but I think he will end up out of top 3.
After all, it is sad to see the hype decreasing about his song. That staging will be remembered as one of the biggest fails ever in fdc.

We have 10M inhabitants + some millions in the diaspora. For Portuguese standards, he is the biggest male pop singer since covid times.I always feel like chucking when I hear Fernando Daniel described as a HUGE name.
Do people even know what huge names look like?

IMO the year is too weak for "Medo" to NQ. And so far it barely has any competition - only Slovenias entry is similar, but by a weaker singer (Though I guess you can argue it has a message people might be moved by... I'm just not personally). So it will likely have the ballad Fans.
Hard to say how it will do in the final than. Juries will give it enough points for it to do well, so it's not as if it was a bad entry in that sense. But I also feel like it would be a clear step down from the entries before. (Even if some were robbed, like Mimicat. I'm so not over that)
