i mean to respect his choice. not to force anybody what to do. As long as he is hot harming anybody.
But if we know he's homophobic that means he's harming people, because he's publicly making hatful comments.
I assume there's a fair share of homophobic artists and people that we don't know about, because they don't go around spilling hate.

Sadly, I feel that every act that was in yesterday's top 5 had some sort of flaw in its design.

Poison Cake is definitely the act that we could achieve the most ambitious staging for but musically I find it so unlistenable and so do many other people here. That was kinda of case for Bambi as well but it worked for her. Still, it doesn't mean its gonna work twice in a row.

Daj daj has a very memorable hook and enjoyable instrumental but people would compare it to RTTD. Not because its valid to compare it, but because thats the type of ignorant stuff that ESC fandom simply always does. Last but not least, the controversy regarding the singer would not do this act any favors either.

Aaaaa is just so dated early 2000's with corny English lyrics. The lead singer, Lorena, is the only true highlight here. I'm hoping one day we will see her compete with something that is not below her level. She has that x factor as a performer.

Soul of my soul as a style is situated in that lane that I feel has been very overdone in these last five or six years. It kinda became the "when in doubt, we send this" type of entry for a handful of Eastern Europe countries. Plus I wasn't really convinced by their stage presence either.

Južina was my favorite and it might have been the most unique act out of this bunch. The issue is that the excellent music video hooked everyone but if you listen to the song for the first time without looking at the video, it very likely would not have had the same impact. Sonically it still sounds unique but does it have that broad appeal that would make the majority say "yes, this is the one" on the first listen? It did not do it for me, even though I really like it now. Staging was still good though it couldn't truly replicate the MV (which is understandable).

Juries + televote. Both count equaly. ;)
Yeah, 83 jury points + 47 televote. So he won thanks to the juries because televote had 3 other songs with more points. 🥸

I don't hate the song with a burning passion like some people here, I give it a :3: at the moment.

Since I watched the Croatian national final, Dora 2025 Final live, online from the UK, yesterday evening (2 March 2025), I've made a review video containing my opinions on all sixteen finalist songs, in order of performance (based on Dora 2025 Final performances), and my ranking from sixteenth to first in My Eurovision Scoreboard. Please note that I didn't preview any of the songs before watching Dora 2025 Final, so my first ever time of seeing or hearing the sixteen finalist songs was whilst watching Dora 2025 Final live, and thus I was judging the entries with no prior familiarisation.

We're really starting to get a whole cafe menu together now. Though i doubt anyone would order the "Poison Cake" based on name alone....

So, this is like a weird blend of joke and Eric Saade-type entry. The good things first.

Good: Ummm... i don't know, but i kinda like it? The song is strangely assembled with lots of breaks and weird parts, and the chorus itself doesn't really have a melody. Still, you at least have to say it's creative, i just wish it could feel more solid instead of haphazard, almost amateurish. I also like the "screamy" part, i hope he keeps that instead of singing "clean" like he did in the gold suit performance, it gives the song more character, sets it apart from the typical boy-pop style.

Outright bad: the clothes. They just like amateurish, like something from a high school student performance, though i kind of like how the choreography is completely unexpected for each part of the song. REALLY have a problem with his facial expressions, especially in the "Tasty, tasty" part, he just looks so hideously smug and unlikable doing that smile.

Also, it's kind of similar to Belarus' "Cheesecake" from 2014, both using the cake as an analogy for a relationship with a bad outcome. So, overall, i'd place this pretty high based on creativitity alone, just wish it could be a little more polished, but we'll see how it turns out in the ESC.

Actually I gave this not enough points yesterday, I got influenced by the negative hate mood here… I’m upgrading from 2 to :5: points. It’s actually better or just as good/ bad as many other songs this year (I have so many songs on 5 this year).

I think I would really like the songs if they went only for the dark vibe. The sweet yum yum parts in-between are ruining it more than adding something positive. I’m also not too keen on the shouty high notes at the end.

After all I’m still shocked by the hate hat this song is getting while songs I personally can’t stand AT ALL this year like :pl: !!! and :be: (which I gave two clear 0s) are getting so many 12s and such positive feedback.

No guarantee that it would do well in May, but I´m definitely sad about "Južina" flopping.

EDIT: Shedding tears for Luka here and Harem Girls in Serbia.

The two I'm so glas we both avoided.. 😂
I prefer both Serbia and Croatia 2025 to Serbia and Croatia 2024 😁
I think Croatia 2025 is more current than Croatia 2024 and with Bambie Thug director this can do well..
Harem Girls is seriously... No comment.. 😂

O pts.

Not because the song is awful (the song is awful) but how it was chosen. This is not :hr: people's choice and I'll never support this kind of nonsense.

I had to downgrade it to :6: - the chorus is getting on my nerves but I still think it got some very catchy, memorable and impactful parts and Marko still has 2 months to practise his screams at the end of the entry.
I guess it simply depends on my mood whether I think the song's genius or abysmal.
