Today I was reminded that we already chose our 2023 participants and I already hate everything about this entry based on what I read or hear about it

I didn’t know that Duncan Lawrence had such a track record as composer of number 1 hits and Eurovision winners. #stunning

I haven’t heard much about it but I can see Duncan being annoying in Liverpool. He tried to be involved with every national final.

When are we going to hear the song? Anybody knows? I'm keeping an open mind here, not going to slash anything until I've heard it.

I understand that it can be annoying to constantly see Mans Zelmerlöw and Duncan Laurence in the Eurovision bubble. Personally I also feel that way a little bit about Helena Paparizou (who I love btw). It's always the same pool of artists who appear. That being said I do think they have every right to appear in the bubble, be coaches or jury members. They are former winners after all and there should be a level of respect for them. I rather see former winners than wiwibloggs members. I really find it sad how Eurovision completely drops these winners. I just wish we would see more of them. I find it sad for example that we never see Lena at Eurovision. When she won that was such a huge moment in Germany. Eurovision had world cup level of hype. She is still very popular in Germany but you never or rarely see her at Eurovision. They only bring the same people up. Alexander Rybak, Conchita, even Verka S. A victory should mean more for the artists than just a trophy. Sorry for OT I just had that on my mind.

Lena basically appeared in Eurovision 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
That´s four consecutive years :D

She´s no Mans, for sure but probably one with the most appearances in recent years.

I don´t mind "Mans" or "Duncan" but I think they shouldn´t be involved in more than 1 NF per year (to somehow keep it fresh for the fans) and I just got tired of hearing "Heroes" (which shouldn´t have won anyway xD).
EBU cancelled 2020 and all we got was an acoustic performance of "Heroes"? :D

? I don't know what Eurovision bubble you are part of because in mine (which is mainly the Brazilian bubble) Rybak is WAY more brought up than Duncan.

No one ever tops Mans on these complaints, though. I mean, he even HOSTED an Eurovision.

For me this duo sounds promising! :giggle: I'm looking forward to hear their song! Have they confirmed their genre of music for Eurovision on some news? Pop, ballad or something else?

If Eurovision taught me one thing over the years, which never fails, that is, when a song is hyped a lot with confidence before its release, it turns out to be a huge disappointment.

Is this hyped though? Heard nothing about it to be honest.

Duncan said the song is a contender for the win and he wouldn't participate if he didn't believe it would win.

Imagine the alternative when you are asked about your song:
„Oh, it‘s quite a simple normal song, rather mediocre. I hope the people will like it at least beacause I‘m not too convinced about it. We probably wont reach the final with it but the important thing is to participate because I need to pay my bills somehow and stay in buisness.“
