They're two separate nations with the same real life user behind them, unless @Steffan himself intended otherwise. 10 RoM/Amhr, Orovoda/Kamandé and Swelatie/FSR KOP!JA are other examples of this.

If you withdraw from the roster, you don't need to re-enter as your old nation when you join the waiting list anew, you have the option of starting completely fresh. Some people disregard this in their personal voting statistics, which is fine, but the quiz separates all such instances.

It also separates "fusion nations" like Maccha-Brugia and UEOHPAX, according with old tradition. Let's not start that debate again though.

With a lot them it's extra hard because of the spelling. I'm just thankful Tincheys !%pt# or whatever it was called was included with Illumia.
Actually I tried to enter !%pt# after I already entered Illumia, didn't know it is the same country

Oh not at all, sorry, I just braced for the eventual topic of counting fusion nations separately since I brought it up, because that's been a point of disagreement in the past. All trivial though.

I wish you a joyful life without scabies anywhere near you.

The suffering is real.

Gotta be honest, there's one point in NSC rules that I won't be actively trying to have removed, but which has nonetheless always bothered me.

2. The purpose of the contest is to stimulate the output of original songs of high quality in the field of popular music, by encouraging competition among nations through the international comparison of their works.

What the hell does this mumbo jumbo even mean?

"The idea of NSC is to share cool new songs that you like with other people around the world. Quality is assured by ranking everyone's song choices."

Something like this :p

That is actually the only part I didn't write when I reworked the rules, I kept it in from the old rule document that Matt wrote a few years prior. To be honest I'm not sure exactly how to interpret it either, but I thought it was hilarious and a bit pretentious and had no actual effect on anything, so it was a cool enough part to leave in as tribute to the old rules (a prose I otherwise was about to completely undo, so I wanted to throw it a bone).

I believe it's a reference to some similar fancy "this is our goal and motivation"-words from some old Eurovision rules.

We're approaching NSC 200. I have a special theme thought out for this anniversary edition, and have seriously considered scorewhoring NSC 199 just to execute it. But instead I'll just sell this idea to whoever gets to host NSC 200, hopefully you'll like it.

The theme is Absolutely Everybody - which was supposed to be name of the super-congratulations that was first planned for NSC 50, then comes back with every milestone, but which never came to be.
The idea is an edition hosted by absolutely everybody, de jure host acting as a moderator rather than an actual host.

Confirmations - This part works normally. People send their entries to the host, but this is only to check for eligibility.

Semifinals - The host opens semifinals threads, posts who participates in which semi and nothing else. Participants then post their entries within specified deadline (3 days should be enough) in whatever format they wish - picture, video, text, etc.
*People who won't be available during that time may send their entry presentation to the host in their confirmation PM. The host will post it in their name
**If someone goes completely MIA, the host will just post plain text and link to their entry at the end
Comments should only be allowed in a separate thread, to keep the shows clean and readable.

Semifinal results - Along with the votes participants answer in PM if they would like to present semifinal results or not. Everybody is highly encouraged to do so. WLers may volunteer too. Once all votes are submitted, the host randomly assigns qualifiers to people who agreed and PMs them "Nation X qualified". Their job is to present that qualifier in whatever way they wish. Depending if there are more or less than 28 presenters, some people may not receive a qualifier or some may receive more than one. The host opens the results thread and waits. This may take a few days.

Final - Once semi results are complete, the host opens the final thread, copying the posts from the semi threads. Votes are collected by host, but only to control if they're correct.

Final results - After voting deadline, final results thread is opened and people present their own votes in whatever format they wish. It's suggested to add the current scoreboard with it. Again, this may take a few days. WL votes may be presented simultaneously in the same thread.
*If someone won't available during specified results show period, they may send their votes presentation to the host, who will post it in their name.

Love the idea, but why not have everyone collect and present someone else's votes in the finale? :D

I can't find a dedicated thread for NSC database corrections, so thought I'd put this here for the mods:

NSC 25 - Comodina's artist is mistakenly listed as Miranda! - it's just Miranda (no exclamation mark)

NSC 122 - Cherniya's artist is mistakenly listed as Miranda - it's Miranda! (With exclamation mark). Also the song title is just Don (no exclamation mark at the end)

Also checked the Moisantia entries:
112 - artist is shown as Adele Dazeem (lolz) but should be Idina Menzel
193 - artist is shown as Delta Ray but should be "Delta Rae"
