Everyone is really hyped tbh, when I listened to the song for the first time I wasn't expecting that, I was not very impressed after the first listen but It's slowly growing on me...

I can never put "Violent Thing" at the level of Michael Schulte's song and performance, both were memorable for me, it's actually one of my favorite songs from 2018. But it's still way better than other German entries from the 10's, maybe I just like 2010, 2011 and 2013 more than this one. This is well-produced, but for some reason I have no interest on listening to it again, which is weird since I usually like this kind of stuff.

Most of the hype may be justified with how the year is shaping up, there are many slow songs and ballads and the different songs aren't that appealing (apart from Lithuania maybe)... I would be a little bit (very little) ok to see this as the fan favourite generic pop radiofriendly song this year if nothing very good comes (I doubt that will happen ofc). It's middle of the road for me - :5: is probably too harsh, a :6: is fair... I'm probably the wrong guy here

P. S. I'm glad to say :uk: has my favorite Big 5 entry this year xheat... Never happened before with me since I avidly follow the contest

Well, I quite like the song, I feel that its a really bright and fun pop song that has a sound to it that will be unique this contest and will end up standing out in comparison to the other Big 5 acts.

My problem is that its kind of forgettable for me; almost as soon as the song ends it leaves my mind and if this song is flanked by two more noteworthy songs then its going to struggle to have much of an impact.

Still, give it some really great staging, some really dazzling choreography and I can see it doing well, possibly even being the second highest out of the Big 5 acts in the end. So, all that said, I've given it a seven.

Oh, A Symphonix song? :0:

Nah, I really have to elaborate on my feelings about Germans selling their soul to Symphonix. Nice tune, though.

gave it a 6 in the poll, I'd put it lower on how much I like it alone but there are other factors involved to consider.

I gave it 6 in the poll. Feels just about right. It's boppy, quite fun and works well as an internal choice. Staging and the live strength of the artist will play a huge role in how the entry is perceived at Eurovision. You've got to remember that most of you here and the entirety of Europe didn't like Ingrosso, and Benjamin 2.0 has an even higher voice (almost hamster-esque at times) and looks EVEN twinkier. What he does have on his side is a more accessible sounding funky kind of pop. It's less left field. But that more lively funk pop thing is actually why I'm just not feeling it as much as I could have done if they'd worked on giving it more of a distinctive character. When I listen to Dance You Off I vibe for three minutes, and that's generally what I desire from my groovy 80s tinged synth pops.

I hope though that this can do well for Germany. Like my own country, something inside you has woken up this year. I think we've just experienced one flop too many at this point. Good luck. Be the einfach wunderbar darlings that you know you can be x

@DaFlo Apparently the music video was filmed in Sofia. That still doesn't explain what Lariss is doing there, but at least it's closer xrollinglol

I found this video when he was at Got Talent in 2010.:)

fun fact 1: The voiceover guy at the beginning is Peter Poles known for his jokes when presenting the points from slovenia in the 2000s
fun fact 2: the female judge played the piano for Nuša Derenda

it's fun and serviceable but nothing very special. ben's voice is kind of silly to me. obviously this is all a huge improvement for germany considering this would never win a NF there. 6 points. the uk won the battle of the announcements though imo, more potential there despite the fans obviously warming up to the banger more immediately.

xrollinglol I gave it "only" a 7. Italy still crowns on top for me. xbow
Technically the German song has a great sound and I think it will be very successful at ESC. It is normal to be critical of our song. We always think that it is not the top and we are wrong. Both Italy and Germany have two beautiful songs with two different styles. Is Italy the top for you? Germany is the best for me! xbowMay the best song win!xviolinx12pointsxyaaay

If only she would've sang the 2nd verse. And then the last chorus both of them together. Ourgh my Lariss Eurovision dream would've been complete

The song seems such a good match for her voice as well.

Bless her soul. I wish I was Ben Dolic for a second

Personally I think that Italy is top 5, but Germany is rather 10-15 maybe? But I am usually wrong.
