The games are less than two months ahead. The 17-18 seasons are all running. Let's discuss here...

Someone predicted the medals table. I guess they just took the results from all the latest championships in each competition, so it's not going to happen. and this season is already different on the results

This time :ru: was banned to compete at Olympics for first time after State Doping Scandal and only few russian sportsmen will compete only under IOC neutal athleetes as well. No mentions that in adition the selected ''neutral team'' will have restrictions at time of the competion...

So, it's mean a good chance for :de:, :us:, :at:; :by:, :se:, ::na, :kr: and :ch: to take :ru: medals as well!

I'm hoping for 2 medals..
8 (from Sochi) is going to be very hard to beat because this winter is our weakest in this decade xshrug

And the ban of Russia is pissing me off because doping is everywhere.. even our 8 medals might soon become 7
Clearly a political move imo

all the latest championships in each competition]

Yeah nooooooooope. If Lowell freaking Bailey (or any :us: biathloner for that matter) can be a defending world champion, then this exposes itself as a flawed predictor :p

:ca: will likely send another strong team, I'm hoping for 20+ medals given our strength in hockey, curling, speed/figure skating and freestyle skiing

no idea what to expect from Germany... Sotchi was a disaster as we finished on 6th place in medal table..
We should definitely improve our record in Biathlon (only 2 silver medals in Sotchi) with our strong relay teams and two girls who can fight for individual wins. Also in Bob we will definitely improve... we didnt win anything there in 2014 but now we seem to be dominant in this sport again.
In Alpine Ski we are unlucky cause our best male athlete is out due to unjury but we have still Viktoria Rebensburg who can get gold in giant slalom...
In men's ski jumping we are brillant right now with two worldclass jumpers leading the world cup ranking... but it's not the first time our ski jumpers have some amazing early form.. mostly they lose it already during the 4-hills-tournament. Anyway, I hope for individuals medals in ski jumping this time & a golden medal in the team event. In luge we should win all golden medals again
In Nordic combined we dont dominate in a way we did last season but once again I expect us to win at least 3 medals there. Ive got no idea about other sports. I am pretty sure we will do better than 4 years ago, though. Hopefully fighting for the first place in medal table again. Norway will probably win the medal table again. They will win 367257 golden medals in cross-country already...

Tbh If we only win one medal and it's gold in Mens Hockey... I'll consider these Olympics a success.

I made for fun a quick count on how the medal league would look like approximately if the results would end like the rankings in each sport or the latest results from this season. It would be something like this (in the order gold, silver, bronze):

Have your flagbearers for the opening ceremonies been named yet? Today in Ottawa, it was announced that ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir will be leading Team Canada into the stadium
