I have no idea what the split results mean, what about the usual 1-26 on jury/ 1-26 on televote like usual?

That's so useless, they must convert them into the final points system.

Closer to 1 in the ranking, the better.

Montenegro came 4th in the televoting :(

If it did mean good, then by looking at the semi 2 numbers Switzerland would have come second in the jury vote behind Bulgaria

2nd last, ahead of Bulgaria. The number means what they were averagely ranked at. So an average of 10 would mean most juries ranked their song 10th

How did Ireland take the last place? It seems Spain did worse.

The average position in juries/televote doesn't really matter, the key is getting points (being in a country's top 10 when jury/televote is combined). Spain did worse all-round, but placed high enough in individual countries to get more points than Ireland. The opposite of this is true with Ireland - it was generally placed higher than Spain, but in the end, it wasn't high enough per individual country giving points.

I guess Ireland could only manage to do well in one or the other from most countries. They would've only got points from those where they did well in both televoting and jury

How did Spain not end up last!

Simple. If Spain placed, say, 26th, 25th and 10th, they'd end up with 1 point and an average position of 20.3.
If Ireland placed, say, 11th, 12th and 13th, they'd end up with 0 points and an average position of 12.

The problem is, points are what matters, so Ireland would come after Spain.
