Israel continued their search for the next Eurovision star this week as two more shows of HaKokhav HaBa took place. The competition is now reaching its crucial final stages with the eight remaining acts becoming six after the latest shows.
Once again the assembled panel of Asaf Amdursky, Keren Peles, Harel Ska’at and Static & Ben-El Tavori presided over the performances as the acts were arranged into duels. The successful artists would immediately qualify for the final six, with the losing performers going into the second round on Wednesday to fight for survival.
On Tuesday, the following duels took place;
- Netta Barzilai (90%) beat Eden Meiri (71%)
- Chen Aharoni (71%) beat Adva Omer (44%)
- Riki Ben Ari (76%) beat Ravit Batashvili (56%)
- Jonathan Mergui (78%) beat Howie Danao (61%)
On Wednesday, the beaten four participants took part in two further duels, with the winners surviving in the competition and the singers with the lower scores here being eliminated from the competition;
- Howie Danao (85%) beat Adva Omer (58%)
- Eden Meiri (84%) beat Ravit Batashvili (77%)
This means that the following performers are still in with a chance of representing Israel in Lisbon;
- Chen Aharoni
- Eden Meiri
- Howie Danao
- Jonathan Mergui
- Netta Barzilai
- Riki Ben Ari
